Fact Check: Kid Rock’s Concert Cancellations with Tim McGraw – Debunking the Wokeness Rumor
Kid Rock has been trending lately after a post surfaced on the Facebook page ‘America’s Last Line Of Defense’ last month. This post alleged that Rock canceled several concerts scheduled with Tim McGraw, citing the latter’s perceived ‘wokeness.’
However, it has been confirmed that the news shared on this Facebook page is satire. According to Snopes, Kid Rock and Tim McGraw had no concert plans together, as per the “Tour”section on Rock’s official website. Additionally, the post was debunked when it was revealed that the page’s introduction states:
“The flagship of the ALLOD network of trollery. Nothing on this page is real.”
The misleading post claimed that Kid Rock refused to perform with Tim McGraw after McGraw shared a birthday tribute for his wife, Faith Hill, on Instagram on September 21, 2024. McGraw’s heartfelt message praised Hill, stating:
“Our girls could not have a better role model in their lives as how to be an incredibly strong woman. And how to believe in themselves and be in charge of their lives (every aspect of their lives)! Let’s honor the women in our lives with respect and make sure that we fight for their rights right alongside them.”
This message, however, encountered backlash from certain individuals who dismissed its significance. Notably, the Facebook post from America’s Last Line Of Defense has since been deleted, and the page is currently inactive. The caption of the post read:
“McGraw’s recent ‘bold political statement’ put him in the crosshairs of a boycott.”
Kid Rock’s Music Makes a Comeback Following RNC Performance
Known formally as Robert James Ritchie, Kid Rock performed his iconic 2000 single “American Bad A*s”at the Republican National Convention on July 18, 2024. This performance supported Donald Trump and quickly went viral across various social media platforms.
As a result, the track resurfaced on several Billboard charts, including the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart in August of this year. Originally, the song entered the Hard Rock chart back in 2013, and its popularity has only continued to grow.
Kid Rock has long been an advocate for Donald Trump, expressing his support during an interview on Tucker Carlson’s YouTube channel. He discussed his journey toward supporting Trump, saying:
“I mean, part of it was I got older and wiser, but to be honest, I had the money in the bank. And at the end of the day, when I really thought about it – it sounds hokey, but I just care about this country too much. And it wasn’t really a conscious thing; I just started kind of doing it, getting involved.”
Kid Rock was spotted alongside Trump and Hank Williams Jr. at a football game between Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs on September 28, 2024. The trio was seen enjoying the game together, with Rock and Williams Jr. donning cowboy hats and cheering when Trump was acknowledged by the crowd.
