Fact Check: Is Diddy the Author of The Adrenochrome Witch? Debunking the Viral QAnon Conspiracy Theory

Screenshots featuring a book listing by music mogul Sean “Diddy”Combs on Barnes & Noble have gained traction online, sparking claims that he authored a book titled The Adrenochrome Witch. This has intensified viral conspiracy theories such as Pizzagate and QAnon.

Adrenochrome is a chemical compound resulting from the oxidation of adrenaline and has become a focal point for several far-right conspiracy theories throughout the years. These theories allege that adrenochrome is involved in satanic rituals and is harvested from children’s blood after they are murdered. Furthermore, it is often associated with the concept of eternal youth, being referred to as the “elixir of youth.”

On September 25, a now-deleted Instagram post showcased an image of the hip-hop mogul alongside the text “The Adrenochrome Witch by Sean Diddy Combs.”However, Sean “Diddy”Combs has never authored a book titled The Adrenochrome Witch, and no such book is in existence. Additionally, the Instagram post was flagged by Meta as part of its commitment to combat misinformation on its platform.

A report released by Politifact on October 3, 2024, indicated that representatives reached out to Barnes & Noble for clarification. The bookstore confirmed that the alleged book was not genuine and had never appeared on their website.

Politifact, however, discovered a listing of the book on Barnes & Noble’s “Nook for Web”site, which allows users to read e-books and sample chapters on their computers. The page displayed a title The Adrenochrome Witch attributed to Diddy.

Upon further inquiry, Barnes & Noble clarified to Politifact:

“This is an archived sample page that was taken down in July 2020 when it was determined to be fake. There is no actual link to the purported ‘book’ or any means to purchase a copy.”

If such a controversial publication had been authored by a high-profile music figure like Sean Combs, it would have likely garnered significant public attention through legitimate listings across various online and offline marketplaces. However, no record of such a book exists, confirming the claims to be false.

Why Was Diddy Arrested?

Diddy was arrested on September 16, 2024, facing three charges: s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The hip-hop mogul is currently awaiting trial at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

According to prosecutors, the music mogul allegedly coerced multiple individuals into performing s*xual acts to “satisfy his s*xual desires,”which he reportedly referred to as “freak-offs.”

Details surrounding his alleged crimes came to light when the rapper’s former partner, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023. Ventura accused the hip-hop mogul of s*xual assault, abuse, and r*pe throughout their relationship from 2007 to 2018.

The lawsuit alleges that Combs compelled Cassie into a “drug-fueled lifestyle” upon entering into a relationship in 2007. The supposed abuse culminated in her reported r*pe at Diddy’s residence in Los Angeles in 2018.

In May 2024, CNN released video footage purportedly showing Diddy physically assaulting Cassie Ventura in the lobby of a luxury hotel in Los Angeles. In the months that followed, several prominent figures in the industry came forward to recount experiences of alleged physical and s*xual abuse by Combs.

Federal agents raided his residences in Los Angeles in March 2024 as part of their ongoing investigation. Reports suggest that a substantial quantity of baby oil, lubricant, drugs, and ammunition was recovered from his properties.

As of now, Diddy is awaiting his next trial, set for October 9, after being denied bail on two occasions by U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky and Judge Andrew L. Carter, respectively.
