Fact Check: Is Cornell, Nelly’s Son, Missing After Diddy’s Arrest? Analyzing the Viral TikTok Claims

Recently, a rumor circulated online claiming that Cornell Haynes III, known as Tre, the son of rapper, singer, and actor Nelly, has gone missing. This speculation first ignited on YouTube on September 13, through a post by the channel Celebrity TV.

“Police Raids Jay-Z’s House Amidst Investigation into Missing Cornell Haynes: Rapper Nelly’s Son,” the YouTube post’s caption stated.

On September 23, TikTok user @jackcocchiarellashow also shared the same video, which quickly gained traction, coinciding with the recent arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs.

However, the now-viral video claim has been debunked. Cornell Haynes III is not missing, and there is “no credible evidence to support the claims of his disappearance,” according to a report by DWB Films on September 16. Likewise, the blog Amy-movie clarified that the rumor remains “unverified.” Furthermore, there are no confirmed reports of any police raids at Jay-Z’s residence.

Examining the Rumor Regarding Nelly’s Son Tre

Last week, a video emerged online alleging that Nelly’s 25-year-old son, Cornell “Tre” Haynes III, had vanished under suspicious circumstances. Initially posted by the Celebrity TV account on YouTube, it attracted over 7,618 views at the time of writing. Meanwhile, the same viral clip on TikTok generated more than 37,300 reactions, 1,655 comments, and over 201,000 shares.

Nevertheless, the claim has proven to be false. According to the video, Tre reportedly went missing following a supposed confrontation with Jay-Z regarding his daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The 4-minute and 37-second clip further alleged that police subsequently raided Jay-Z’s home. However, there are no verifiable reports supporting these allegations.

The video also claimed that Nelly was in “shocking disbelief” over Jay-Z’s alleged involvement in his son’s disappearance, given their long-standing personal and professional friendship. Yet, no substantiated evidence backs this assertion.

Additionally, the video claimed that various members of the hip-hop community had expressed support and solidarity for Nelly on social media following his son’s purported disappearance. However, no such posts have surfaced from any prominent figures in the industry.

It is clear that Cornell Haynes III has not gone missing, and the claims surrounding him are unfounded and fabricated, lacking any factual basis. Notably, no major news outlets have reported on this rumor, nor have Nelly or Jay-Z commented on it.
