Fact Check: Diddy’s LA Mansion Underground Bunker Rumor Linked to Playboy Mansion Debunked

A recent resurgence of an old rumor regarding Sean “Diddy”Combs has taken over social media platforms. Various posts shared on X have suggested the existence of an underground tunnel potentially linking Combs’ LA mansion to the Playboy mansion. One notable post from September 24 stated:

“Google Earth shows Diddy Mansion and Playboy Mansion practically next door to each other and on the same PARALLEL as the Getty – what are the odds they’re all connected underground?”

Another post, dated September 20, claimed:

“It’s alleged that there was an underground tunnel that connected one of Diddy’s homes to Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion.”

This isn’t the first incidence of this speculation appearing online. Similar rumors circulated last November and as recently as March of this year on X. However, this speculation has been debunked.

A viral screenshot, which purportedly originated from a CNN broadcast, alleged the presence of underground tunnels beneath Diddy’s property. However, Reuters confirmed that this screenshot was fabricated. CNN spokesperson Emily Kuhn clarified that the images in question were manipulated. Therefore, it can be concluded that this rumor is false.

No Verified Reports of Underground Tunnels at Diddy’s Mansion

The speculation regarding potential underground tunnels at Diddy’s mansion has once again come under scrutiny following his arrest by federal agents on September 16, 2024.

This past March, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security conducted raids at the rapper’s luxury residences in Miami and Los Angeles, triggered by a federal lawsuit from his former girlfriend in November 2023, which accused Combs of sex trafficking.

In 2014, the Los Angeles Times reported that the music executive purchased a mansion in Holmby Hills for $40 million. This property featured a “lagoon-style swimming pool with a grotto linked by an underwater swimming tunnel,”but did not include any claims of underground tunnels.

Diddy’s Los Angeles mansion spans 17,000 square feet and includes a guesthouse of 3,009 square feet, featuring amenities like a 35-seat theater, a gym, and a wine room.

On September 16, Sean Combs was arrested by federal authorities and subsequently denied bail. His indictment includes serious charges such as sex trafficking and allegations of orchestrating “freak-off parties,”where he purportedly committed abuses against numerous female victims.
