S.government needs in the late 19th century, particularly for organizing census data, giving rise to punch-card systems. Fast forward to the late 20th century, Intel unveiled the groundbreaking 4004 microprocessor, which was a game changer.

Initially, the Intel 4004 was not intended for mass market appeal; it was developed for the Japanese company Busicom, aimed at powering a calculator printer. Released in 1974, this chip featured a 4-bit CPU, a 740kHz clock speed, and delivered around 92, 600 instructions per second (IPS).With just 4KB of ROM and 640 bytes of RAM, its specifications can seem trivial compared to today’s standards.
