An Overview of Ramses and Marissa’s Journey in Love Is Blind Season 7
Ramses and Marissa entered the show with distinct backgrounds and initially found themselves caught in a love triangle. Ramses was apprehensive that Bohdan, a fellow suitor and military man, might win Marissa’s affection. After a period of uncertainty, Marissa went on dates with both men but ultimately chose Ramses, as she was weary of relationships with overly masculine partners who had previously abandoned her.
Ramses distinguished himself as a sensitive individual with a progressive perspective on societal issues and patriarchy. After amicably parting ways with Bohdan, Marissa felt a strengthened bond with Ramses when he penned a heartfelt letter declaring his love for her.
“Though I’ve never seen you, I find you incredibly beautiful,” Ramses wrote.
Marissa accepted Ramses’ proposal and eagerly met him in person for the first time. During this period, Ramses also opened up about his prior unsuccessful marriage, a topic that didn’t deter Marissa. The couple then enjoyed a honeymoon getaway to Mexico with other couples from Love Is Blind.
However, following the honeymoon phase, tensions escalated as the couple faced challenging discussions. Although they both agreed on a modest wedding, they clashed over topics like military service, religion, and more. As a military veteran, Marissa was taken aback by Ramses’ assertion that their relationship would end if she chose to reenlist.
As Marissa introduced Ramses to her friends, who were also military veterans, concerns about their differing views were raised. Marissa reassured her friends that she had no intentions of enlisting again, while expressing her respect for those who serve the country.
Despite agreeing to disagree, Marissa proceeded to introduce Ramses to her family. This meeting proved tense for Ramses as Marissa’s mother, Vanessa, didn’t hold back on her opinions regarding their relationship. She criticized Ramses’ outdated style and financial stability, which she felt warranted her daughter’s attention.
During a moment when Marissa stepped away, Vanessa even issued a stern warning to Ramses about potentially misstepping in their relationship.
Marissa was further surprised when Ramses shared his views on birth control, yet she continued with plans for their wedding. Accompanied by her mother, she visited bridal shops to find the perfect dress, and it seemed like Vanessa’s attitude towards their relationship was softening.
As Love Is Blind episode 11 concluded, Ramses expressed his desire to end the relationship. He conveyed that after sharing living space together, he reaffirmed his reluctance to remarry.
The finale in episode 12 picked up where they left off, with Marissa pleading for Ramses to stay until the end of the experiment. However, he voiced his worries about their future, stating that love alone wouldn’t suffice for a lasting relationship.
“Having been married and witnessing other marriages, I believe love, on its own, isn’t enough. There are other essential elements that must align,” Ramses reflected.
Marissa, heartbroken by Ramses’ decision, expressed her disbelief, stating they had previously discussed this while in the jacuzzi. Ramses reiterated that he didn’t want to be swayed by his emotions, as he had during his previous marriage. He remarked on their mismatched energies, which he feared could spark conflicts in the future.
“You’ve already made your decision. You see me as someone too difficult to coexist with and can’t see past that,” Marissa responded.
After a heartfelt hug, Marissa again inquired if Ramses was confident in his choice. He apologized, yet a tearful Marissa reached out to her mother for support, discarding the engagement ring in despair.
