This organization operates as a quasi-military group dedicated to defending Linkon City from the dangers posed by interstellar Wanderers. Meanwhile, he also resides as the heroine’s upstairs neighbor—a detail she only learns after their relationship develops.
Characterized by his sweet disposition, Xavier is one of the most gentle love interests in the game. His serious demeanor belies a profoundly nurturing character, deeply connected to nature and committed to the welfare of all living things. Despite being an adept Deepspace Hunter, he often shows a lack of practical skills in everyday scenarios. His aspiration to become a skilled cook leads the heroine to save him from his humorous culinary blunders.
Outside of his heroics and occasional kitchen disasters, Xavier is an avid reader with a particular fondness for comic books. He frequently takes naps to recover from energy-draining battles and enjoys lounging in late on his days off.

Xavier is introduced as the very first love interest in Love and Deepspace, making his appearance early in the game. Players will engage with him as their primary partner during tutorial phases and will even receive one of his Memories for free to facilitate their introduction to the game’s mechanics.
What sets Xavier apart from other starter characters in gacha games is his sustained combat viability. Many players opt to keep him as their main character throughout their journey. In fact, the climactic battles in Version 1.0 highlight the advantages of using Xavier, particularly due to his Stellactrum abilities, making it strategic to develop his character alongside any other main options.
Deep Dive into Xavier’s Backstory (SPOILERS!)
Xavier’s intriguing backstory reveals his deeper connection to the events in Linkon City and the heroine’s life. Although he presents as a 23-year-old, his true age is significantly more extensive due to his origins on Philos, a human colony with prolonged lifespans established long after Earth’s decline.
In this future timeline, he encountered a version of the heroine who was a knight-in-training battling Wanderers, paralleling her current role as a Deepspace Hunter. As the crown prince of the Philosian people, Xavier stood in shock upon learning that the heroine’s cycle of sacrifice was imperative for their planet’s survival. He decided to abdicate the throne, opting to have her ascend as Queen while he chose to dedicate his life to serving her as a knight, leading the “Backtrackers.”
In a quest to revisit Earth and evaluate the feasibility of the Philosians returning home, his ship became ensnared in the Deepspace Tunnel, leading to an unintentional time displacement back to contemporary Linkon City.Xavier and his crew have been stranded on Earth for decades, adapting by crafting and discarding new identities as their unusually slow aging becomes noticeable. While their overarching goal remains the repair of their ship, some crew members have opted to forge new lives and marriages with humans, while others have transformed into Wanderers—a fate that forces Xavier into tragic confrontations.
Throughout his extensive life, he has often donned the guise of “Lumiere, ”a legendary figure instrumental in mitigating the Chronorift Catastrophe that unleashed the Wanderers upon Earth. Yet, he carefully maintains a brand of separation between his everyday persona and his heroic identities, leaving the heroine unaware if Lumiere is indeed Xavier himself.
As Xavier engages with the protagonist in the narrative, he appears to be nearing the end of his artificially prolonged existence. Coming to terms with the reality that he may never return to his home gives him a unique perspective on the heroine, who, while connected to his past, is not identical to the Queen he once knew.
Notably, Xavier has never articulated his feelings for any iteration of the heroine. His rare moments of vulnerability manifest primarily as jealousy when he perceives her showing affection towards others. Nevertheless, LaDS maintains a lighthearted ambiance around these interactions, as the love interests rarely acknowledge one another. His playful jealousy is often directed towards innocent targets, including young children and even his own heroic persona.
