Exploring the Feud Between King Von and Quando Rondo: History Unveiled Amidst Lil Durk’s Arrest Over Alleged Murder-for-Hire

Today, October 25, rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Derrick Banks, was taken into custody in Florida. He is currently being held at the Broward County jail without bond, and faces serious allegations related to a murder-for-hire plot.

His arrest follows the prior detainment of five individuals from Chicago, who were arrested and charged federally in California. These charges are connected to “murder-for-hire”accusations related to a shooting in 2022, which targeted rapper Quando Rondo as an act of retaliation.

Major news outlets, including the Chicago Tribune and Complex, have been investigating potential links between Durk’s OTF Record Label, Quando Rondo, and the late King Von.

The allegations in this situation include conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, carrying out murder-for-hire involving a fatality, and possession of a machine gun during a violent crime that resulted in death.

In Florida, the law permits the death penalty for crimes of this nature, presenting the possibility of capital punishment for those indicted if they are found guilty.

Examining the Feud: Quando Rondo and King Von’s Clash as Lil Durk Faces Arrest in Florida

Tragically, King Von, an up-and-coming rapper affiliated with Lil Durk’s OTF (Only The Family) Record Label, was killed at the youthful age of 26 in a shooting incident in November 2020. This shooting arose from a confrontation between Von and Quando Rondo outside an Atlanta hookah lounge.

Details surrounding the altercation that night remain unclear, but both artists were known to be linked with rival factions. Rondo later referenced this event in his 2022 song featuring NBA Youngboy, titled “Want Me Dead,”in which he raps:

“Ha, my favorite opp dead, sister talk too much, no, I don’t like the b—h / Lul Timmy rolled her brother up, got stepped on in some Nike kicks”

Following Von’s tragic death, police apprehended Timothy Leeks, a 22-year-old who goes by the name Lul Tim, and charged him with felony murder while he was being treated for injuries at a local hospital.

His attorney Noah Pines verified last year that all charges against Tim had been dismissed, as prosecutors believed he was acting in self-defense.

Reports suggest a close connection between Lul Tim and Quando Rondo, which is reflected in the lyrics on “Want Me Dead.”Rondo has publicly proclaimed his loyalty to Tim, declaring:

“I’d die for this man… he’d do the same for me. He almost did. I take that sh*t to heart.”

Since the incident, Rondo has maintained that he was merely “defending himself”against King Von’s aggression. His continual references to the altercation in social media posts and songs hint at lingering conflict between the two rappers.

While numerous rumors surrounding the animosity between King Von and Quando Rondo have circulated, some fans speculate that they may have previously been friends, pointing to resurfaced footage showing them together in earlier times.

King Von’s murder reportedly sparked a prolonged feud between Lil Durk and NBA Youngboy, who mentors Rondo. This conflict continued for years until Gillie Da Kid intervened and urged both parties to reconcile.

Five Alleged Associates of OTF Indicted in “Murder-for-Hire”Scenario

Unveiled last Thursday in the U.S. District Court, the indictment lists five individuals: Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston.

All five are alleged to have participated in a drive-by shooting at a gas station in Los Angeles in 2022, which aimed to retaliate against Quando Rondo for King Von’s murder.

While Rondo emerged unscathed, his cousin Lul Pab suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died at a local hospital. This incident occurred two years after the tragic death of King Von in November 2020.

The indictment further claims these individuals were promised monetary gain from an unidentified source within OTF, along with “lucrative music opportunities”if they successfully executed the assassination of Quando Rondo.

Documents from the court reveal that the accused utilized a credit card associated with Lil Durk’s OTF to arrange travel from Chicago to California, where they resided for several days prior to their assassination attempt. Prosecutors allege that Grant orchestrated the entire scheme, overseeing efforts to locate Rondo.

Unverified reports are beginning to associate Lil Durk’s arrest with OTF member Jam, with online discussions suggesting that Jam may have collaborated with authorities by wearing a wire during interactions with Durk and other OTF affiliates over several years.
