Intrigue and Tension Among the Crew
This season revisits the intricate personal relationships that fans have come to love from Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Daisy Kelliher’s return comes after the love triangle drama involving Gary King and former Chief Engineer Colin MacRae in Season 4.
Although Colin will not feature in Season 5, the unresolved tension between Daisy and Gary is likely to create drama. In the opening episode, Daisy expressed the emotional toll her past relationships with both men have taken on her.
“I am super excited to be here, but seeing Gary — I just don’t want to be around him,” Daisy remarked, indicating potential conflicts in the air.
Despite these hurdles, Daisy and Gary sought to address their issues during an emotionally charged conversation, with Daisy revealing,
“I needed a friend… I felt incredibly low and very lonely. All I wanted was for you to call me.”
In reply, Gary conveyed his regret for his past actions and acknowledged that he should have provided more support. Given their history, the future of their working relationship remains uncertain as the season progresses, yet their reunion could be pivotal to the overall dynamics of Season 5.
