Exploring the Bomb Game Mode in XDefiant: Complete Guide

The Season 2 update for XDefiant has unveiled an exciting new game mode called Bomb. Players who are familiar with classic shooter games will notice the similarities to Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy. However, there are key differences that set Bomb apart. This article covers all essential details regarding XDefiant’s innovative Bomb mode.

Bomb: XDefiant’s New Game Mode

In the Bomb mode, two teams engage in alternating rounds of attack and defense. The objective for the attacking team is to plant the bomb at one of two designated sites and either ensure its detonation or wipe out the entire defensive squad.

Conversely, the defenders must either prevent the bomb from being planted or defuse it if it has already been activated. Additionally, eliminating all attackers results in a win for the defending team.

With no respawns allowed in this mode, players must adopt a highly strategic approach.

A defining feature of Bomb, as opposed to CoD’s Search and Destroy, is XDefiant’s unique Faction system. Throughout the match, players have the opportunity to utilize the abilities of their chosen faction, promoting diverse offensive and defensive strategies.

For instance, factions with defensive or area-control skills will likely be more effective in securing bomb sites, while aggressive factions may have an advantage when breaking through enemy defenses. Creative plays can emerge from strategically deploying these abilities, such as using gadgets to seal off entry points or utilizing buffs to enhance assaults.

However, players should be cautious; when a player’s ultra meter reaches its maximum charge, they become locked into their selected faction for the corresponding round. Attempting to switch factions once the Ultra meter is full will reset the meter, eliminating the chance to unleash their faction’s most potent abilities. Therefore, it’s crucial to choose factions wisely at the start of each round.

The Bomb mode is now accessible in the casual playlists following the Season 2 update. The developers plan to refine this mode based on player feedback and it is slated for inclusion in Ranked Play, catering to those looking to showcase their skills in a competitive environment.
