While it may not enjoy the same level of fame as Fortnite, Dead by Daylight has firmly established itself as a titan in the realm of video game crossovers over the past decade. Since its inception, the game has partnered with a plethora of intellectual properties, embracing iconic horror franchises such as Alien, Halloween, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, as well as celebrated video games like Tomb Raider, Castlevania, and Alan Wake.
Among its collaborations, two standout chapters inspired by Resident Evil have elicited particularly enthusiastic feedback from fans. These expansions introduced the Raccoon City Police Department as a map and brought notable characters Albert Wesker and Nemesis as Killers, alongside Survivors Leon, Jill, Ada, and Rebecca Chambers, each equipped with unique Perks echoing their original narratives. Notably, no other franchise has warranted more than two distinct DLC chapters in the game’s extensive history, making Resident Evil a strong contender to break this trend in the future.
The Possibilities of a Third Resident Evil x Dead by Daylight Crossover

Introducing a New Resident Evil Killer
Should a third collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil come to fruition, it would likely adhere to the established format of previous chapters. This suggests players might anticipate the introduction of one new Killer, two new Survivors, and potentially a new map — all drawing inspiration from Capcom’s renowned survival horror series.
With the presence of Nemesis and Wesker already in the game, it’s plausible that the next Killer could emerge from the underrepresented realms of Resident Evil 7 or Village. Despite some criticisms, these games host memorable elements, particularly involving iconic bosses. For instance, Jack Baker from Resident Evil 7 would make an exceptional Killer, utilizing massive garden shears and possessing an ability to swiftly regenerate from Survivor items.
Additionally, Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village presents another excellent option. Her natural height advantage and a potential ability to gain a power boost after feasting on her prey could translate well into the Dead by Daylight mechanics. Another strong candidate for a Killer role would be Mother Miranda, who could employ shapeshifting abilities during missions.
Potential New Resident Evil Survivors
While past collaborations have already cemented Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, and Rebecca Chambers in Dead by Daylight’s Survivor roster, numerous other iconic characters from the Resident Evil universe could be in line for future DLC additions.
If the speculative DLC aligns with the themes of Resident Evil 7 or Village, Ethan Winters stands out as a prime candidate for a new Survivor role. However, developers at Behaviour Interactive would need to employ creative techniques to maintain the visual tradition of obscuring the character’s face. Furthermore, bringing in classic Resident Evil character Barry Burton could also be appealing, potentially including a unique Perk that highlights his expertise as Alpha Team’s weapons supplier.
Prospective New Resident Evil Maps
Currently, Dead by Daylight only features a single Resident Evil-themed map, which, although engaging, barely scratches the surface of what the franchise has to offer in terms of location variety. A prime candidate for a new map would be the iconic Spencer Mansion from the original Resident Evil, replete with jumpscares from Cerberus and its intricate, memorably winding hallways.
