Exciting news for Minecraft enthusiasts! The highly anticipated new biome, the Pale Garden, along with its unique inhabitant, the Creaking, is now accessible. Mojang Studios has launched Snapshot 24w40a, introducing all the features revealed during the recent Minecraft Live event.

During Minecraft Live, Mojang Studios unveiled the Bundles of Bravery update, which has finally introduced the long-requested bundles and the Hardcore mode to the Bedrock edition.

However, the announcement that captured the community’s attention was the introduction of a new mob alongside a fresh biome. Although the exact release date for these features remains undisclosed, the developers swiftly released the snapshot just four days after the event.

Formally known as the “Winter Drop,” this snapshot features the Pale Garden biome, found in the overworld. True to its name, the biome exhibits a pale, desaturated aesthetic. Unique to this area is the recently added pale oak tree, introducing a brand new wood type of the same name.

The enigmatic Creaking mob

The Pale Garden is only inhabited by the Creaking, a hostile mob that only appears at night. Notably, no animal mobs spawn naturally in this biome. The Creaking will only attack players who are not looking directly at it, meaning maintaining eye contact is essential to avoid damage.

However, merely looking at it or attacking with weapons won’t yield any results, as the Creaking is invulnerable to standard attacks. To defeat this formidable foe, players must locate and destroy the Creaking heart within the pale forest—currently, this is the only method to eliminate the Creaking.

Additionally, players can utilize tools enchanted with Silk Touch to break the Creaking heart block. This block can be strategically placed between two pale oak wood blocks in any biome to summon the Creaking.

Beyond these exciting features, Mojang Studios has introduced hanging moss, which players can use to craft moss carpets. Furthermore, the Pale Garden is enhanced with new ambient sounds designed to create an eerie atmosphere.

This update can be easily downloaded through the Minecraft Launcher. Once installed, players can enable the “Winter Drop” option in the Experiment screen while creating a new world.
