Explore All Game Modes in The Finals Video Game

If you’re curious about the various game modes in The Finals and their mechanics, you’re in the right spot. Since its launch in December 2023, Embark Studios’ hit FPS has rapidly gained popularity, thanks to its distinctive game modes and high-energy gameplay. Currently, there are four game modes available for players to engage in. With cross-play functionality, gamers from both PC and console platforms can face off against one another, although it’s important to note that the game is limited to the latest-generation consoles.

What are the different game modes in The Finals?

As of now, The Finals offers four unique game modes:

  • Cash Out
  • Terminal Attack
  • Powershift
  • Bank It

Cash Out

The Cash Out mode features a 3v3v3 format, where three teams compete against each other. However, during the Ranked Tournament, four teams participate instead. The main objective of this mode is to accumulate the highest amount of cash.

Throughout the maps in The Finals, you’ll find several Vaults that spawn. Your mission is to locate and activate these Vaults, and then transport them to designated cashout stations, marked clearly on your map.

Once you deposit the Vault, it’s crucial to defend it from rival teams until the process is finalized. The match continues until the timer counts down, with the team that secures the most cash deposits declared the victor.

Terminal Attack

In the Terminal Attack mode, neither you nor your teammates can heal or revive, so each player has just one life. This mode is set up as a 5v5 scenario, in which teams alternate between offensive and defensive roles regarding a specific target.

For the attacking side, your task is to deliver the decryption key to one of the terminals on the map and ensure the transfer is completed. Defenders, on the other hand, must hinder the attackers from accomplishing their mission.

The first team to fulfill seven objectives in unranked matches will win. In the case of the Ranked Tournament, matches last longer, requiring completion of 13 objectives for victory.

Powershift

Powershift introduces a 5v5 single-round casual mode, which is excluded from the Ranked Tournament. In this mode, players must control a moving platform.

The main goal revolves around either escorting the platform back to your side or getting it as close to your end as possible by the time the clock expires. Control of the platform allows it to roll in the direction of the controlling team.

Bank It

Similar in concept to the Cash Out mode, Bank It requires players to gather coins. Your mission is to find Vaults within the game and deposit your coins at cashout stations.

The initial team to achieve 40,000 cash or the one with the leading total when time runs out claims victory. This mode is designed for casual play, and thus, it’s not available for Ranked Tournaments.
