The lawsuit stems from allegations that Musk and Tesla misappropriated footage from “Blade Runner 2049″to promote their upcoming Cybercab at an event scheduled for October 10, 2024. Warner Bros. Discovery is also implicated in the lawsuit for allegedly supporting this collaboration.

Producers from Alcon Entertainment expressed that a primary motivation behind the legal action is Elon Musk’s political views and his extreme social opinions, which they wish to avoid associating their film with.

Alcon Entertainment Takes Legal Action Against Musk Over Copyright Claims

Alcon Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk and Tesla concerning alleged copyright violations linked to the imagery from “Blade Runner 2049.”Musk is said to have utilized visuals from the film to advertise Tesla’s new robotaxi service.

The Los Angeles-based production company reported that the defendants had sought permission to utilize a distinctive image from the film for the event but were denied. Despite this denial, Tesla proceeded to incorporate the image in its promotional materials.

The lawsuit further claims that during the live-streamed unveiling event led by Musk, AI-generated visuals resembling certain scenes from “Blade Runner 2049″were showcased.

Alcon stated:

“A.I.-generated visuals reminiscent of scenes from ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ including one depicting a Ryan Gosling look-alike.”

Moreover, Alcon has included Warner Bros. Discovery in the lawsuit for their role in enabling the event. The complaint suggests that the company’s refusal to allow the use of images is due to Musk’s ‘politically charged, unpredictable, and arbitrary conduct.’

Alcon is firm on wanting to dissociate its film from Musk, Tesla, or any of Musk’s enterprises.
