Exciting New Astro Bot Levels and Limited Edition DualSense Controller Release Set for July

Exciting Announcements for Astro Bot: New Levels and Limited Edition Controller

In a surprising turn during the recent State of Play, Astro Bot emerged as a highlight, diverting attention from the anticipated Ghost of Yotei. Team Asobi’s studio head, Nicolas Doucet, took the stage to unveil some thrilling updates that will undoubtedly excite fans of the acclaimed platformer.

New Levels Set to Launch

The much-loved title, which clinched the Game Awards 2024 Game of the Year, is set to expand its offerings on July 10, 2025, with the addition of five new levels. This update will elevate the total number of levels to over 90. Following the tradition established by previous post-launch content, Team Asobi is focused on adding additional challenges specifically designed for platforming enthusiasts.

Introducing Vicious Void Levels

The upcoming levels, collectively known as the Vicious Void series, promise new adventures and excitement. While Team Asobi has previewed four of the five level names, they also hinted at an intriguing new character—Atsu, the protagonist from Ghost of Yotei. Players will have the opportunity to collect this character as an additional bot, further enriching the gaming experience.

New Limited Edition Astro Bot DualSense Controller

In tandem with the new levels, an exciting new version of the Astro Bot DualSense controller will be available later this year. While its overall design remains largely unchanged from the original, the controller features a playful twist: the eyes now depict a happy emoji, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the beloved Astro persona.

Future of Astro Bot

As we anticipate the one-year anniversary of Astro Bot, it is speculated that this might be one of the final DLC updates from Team Asobi before they shift focus to their next venture. Reflecting on the continued support for the game, Doucet remarked in a PlayStation Blog: “It has been a real delight to continue offering you, our valued fans, an extended Astro Bot experience at no additional cost.” This statement hints at ongoing commitment but does not confirm any imminent projects.

As the anniversary approaches, fans eagerly await further insight into Team Asobi’s future projects and potential expansions for the Astro Bot universe.
