Xbox has announced the much-anticipated “Midnight Muscle”update for Forza Horizon 5, set to launch on January 28, 2025. This major update promises an array of exciting additions, including new cars, themed decorations, limited-time events, and much more. As the inaugural significant content update for the year, expectations are high for further enhancements to this popular open-world racing game.
Forza Horizon 5, which debuted on November 8, 2021, is the latest installment in Playground Games’ renowned Forza Motorsport spin-off series. Players have the opportunity to traverse an expansive Mexican landscape while participating in thrilling Horizon Festival races, engaging in diverse events, and amassing an extensive collection of cars. As the game approaches its three-and-a-half year mark since launch, rumors suggest a potential release on PS5, as Forza Horizon 5 continues to deliver fresh content and features throughout 2025.
Forza Horizon 5 “Midnight Muscle”Update: New Features and Enhancements





The “Midnight Muscle”update will reinstate dynamic features such as extended night cycles and the exhilarating Neon Airstrip along with a Drone Show, previously seen in “Midnights at Horizons.”Players can look forward to exciting neon-themed decorations at iconic locations like the Aeródromo en la Selva, enhancing the visual appeal of races.
The update will also include the “Midnight Muscle”Festival Playlist, running from January 28 to February 28, offering two exciting new unlockable muscle cars:
- 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock
- 1995 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R
Additionally, players will have access to Neon Tank Photo Decorations during Photo Challenges. A new collectible, the Neon Cube, will be available to locate and smash during the fourth week of the Festival Playlist in February.
A notable enhancement of the update is the introduction of a cinematic start screen that allows players to experience nostalgic clips from previous Forza Horizon titles. Notably, the iconic Colorado Horizon Festival start screen will be available, along with options for the Italian Automotive and Horizon Retrowave themes, offering a selection of seven cinematic introductions.
The voting for the next Festival Playlist will take place from January 30 to February 28, providing players with a chance to choose between the Italian Automotive and High Performance Festival Playlists. The chosen playlist will dictate which festival makes a comeback in March 2025, continuing the trend of major updates accompanying the winning selection.
Furthermore, the “Midnight Muscle”update includes essential bug fixes aimed at improving player experience. Issues related to car purchase sequencing in the Backstage Shop will be addressed, alongside cosmetic glitches involving the 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000 GTR and the 2014 Ford UTE. These fixes are particularly beneficial for players focused on completing their car collections and progressing through the story.
