In the latest episode of The Voice, season 26, episode 3, audiences were treated to a new array of talent as contestants took to the stage. Among them was 14-year-old Jaylen Dunham, hailing from North Carolina. Jaylen revealed that his passion for singing started in childhood, and when he reached the age of 12, he began sharing his song covers online. After delivering his performance, Gwen expressed her astonishment at the emotional depth and softness of his voice, stating:
“What struck me the most about his voice was how he entered with a soft, low register. His level of control was impressive. To think this is live on stage at only 14, I can’t wait to see what he’ll accomplish next.”
Entitled “Blind Auditions Part 3,”episode 3 of season 26 premiered on NBC on October 7, 2024. The episode synopsis highlights:

On The Voice, Gwen acknowledged that Jaylen would benefit from practice and guidance throughout his musical journey. She expressed her eagerness to mentor him and refine his talents. After their heartfelt exchange, Gwen emphasized how powerful his performance was in capturing the audience’s attention.
With optimism for Jaylen’s future, Gwen praised his potential, suggesting that in five to ten years, he could emerge as a nationally recognized vocalist. She also encouraged him to have confidence in his abilities.
“Your low-range singing is astounding. I could sense your increasing worry about whether we would turn around, and I could hear that in your performance. I can’t even begin to imagine how remarkable you will be in three years, five years, or even ten,” she noted.
Gwen further shared her uncertainty about using the coach replay button initially.
“There’s a new feature on The Voice. If you think, ‘I wish I had pressed my button but didn’t,’ you can use the replay option. I decided to activate my Coach Replay for Jaylen. In that moment, I was contemplating whether to use it, and ultimately, I felt that regret was a clear sign to go for it,”she explained.
