Lee Cronin shared his enthusiasm about the project with The Hollywood Reporter, stating:

“This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before. I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.”

This upcoming film marks Cronin’s third directing venture, following the success of his 2023 film Evil Dead Rise and the 2019 psychological horror The Hole in the Ground.
