Insights from Hannah MacPherson on Creating Time Cut
Hannah Macpherson, who has made her mark in thrillers such as Sickhouse and Into the Dark: Pure, discussed her creative process during an interview with Screen Rant on the film’s launch date. She elaborated on her interest in projects that merge two of her favorite genres.
Time Cut blends elements of science fiction with suspenseful thrills. When asked about the most challenging aspect of intertwining these genres, MacPherson noted,
“It can be quite difficult in horror to maintain a sense of lightness or emotional depth. The script inherently did an exceptional job of merging these worlds. Michael Kennedy is brilliant, and the performances from the cast, particularly the girls and Griffin Gluck, prevent the film from feeling one-dimensional. I heavily relied on the strength of performances and the screenplay.”
MacPherson acknowledged that the film drew substantial inspiration from iconic horror films of the late 1990s and early 2000s, including Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Final Destination.
