Everything We Know About Netflix’s No Good Deed

No Good Deed is an exciting upcoming Netflix series set to launch on December 12, 2024. The show features a talented cast including Lisa Kudrow (Friends), Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), and Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me) taking on principal roles. All eight episodes of No Good Deed will be available for streaming on this date.

This engaging series centers around three families embroiled in a fierce competition for ownership of a seemingly idyllic Los Angeles house, which harbors some unsettling secrets that they may discover through challenging experiences.

Created by Liz Feldman, known for her work on Dead to Me, where she collaborated with Linda Cardellini, No Good Deed has been described by Feldman in an interview with Tudum on September 30 as a concept she developed while working on the final season of her previous series:

“I had already started dreaming up this world of Los Angeles real estate and thinking, ‘Why hasn’t there been a show about the buying and selling of one house and all of the people that revolve around that one location?’ I thought, ‘Who would that badass b*tch be in this world?’ ”

No Good Deed Features Eight Half-Hour Episodes

No Good Deed presents itself as a dark comedy with eight captivating episodes. The title cleverly plays on the phrase “title deed,”which relates to real estate ownership.

The narrative revolves around a charming 1920s Spanish-style villa that attracts various competitors, each with their own motives. The home is put up for sale by Paul Morgan and Lydia Morgan, who hope this sale will alleviate their financial burdens.

However, Paul soon realizes that achieving this goal will be more complicated than anticipated. One of the main contenders is Margo Starling, a social climber eager to purchase the villa to elevate her status. Margo is also in a relationship with a high-end developer, with whom she intends to flip the property for financial gain.

Another hopeful buyer is JD Campbell (Luke Wilson), a washed-up soap opera star grappling with his demanding wife’s expectations. He aims to downsize from his larger mansion while maintaining his lavish lifestyle and believes the Spanish-style villa is the perfect solution.

Also in the running for the villa are Carla and Dennis, an African-American couple facing financial strains that heighten tensions as they seek to grow their family.

Other characters include a lesbian couple, Leslie Fisher, played by Abby Jacobson, and her down-to-earth wife Sarah. While Leslie exhibits a curious nature and is thrilled about the villa going on the market, Sarah embodies a more cautious and skeptical approach.

Completing the cast is Mikey, portrayed by Denis Leary, an ex-convict striving for rehabilitation after a series of unfortunate choices, alongside Greg, played by Matt Rogers, a cutthroat real-estate agent determined to finalize the deal by any means necessary.

No Good Deed is set to premiere on Netflix on December 12, 2024, with Liz Feldman and Silver Tree serving as executive producers, both of whom collaborated on Dead to Me.
