Every Minecraft mace enchantment ranked
Minecraft’s mace is a one-of-a-kind melee weapon that is considered to be one of the strongest in the game due to its special smash attack ability. This weapon has become even more noteworthy since the introduction of enchantments that can be applied to it. While some of these enchantments are commonly used on other weapons, others are exclusive to the mace itself.
Therefore, it is beneficial to analyze the top Minecraft mace enchantments in comparison to their alternatives. Although many enchantments for maces have their own value, certain ones are likely to be more advantageous in a variety of scenarios.
The top enchantments for Minecraft maces
9) Disappearing Act: The Curse of Vanishing
Similar to other weapons, armor, and equipment, Curse of Vanishing does not have many beneficial applications. In Minecraft, this enchantment functions the same way on maces as it does on other items, causing them to vanish upon the player’s death. While it may provide some amusement when used as a trick on a friend, it offers no advantage to a player who wishes to preserve their mace.
In Hardcore Mode, this Minecraft mace enchantment is rendered useless since players cannot respawn without the use of commands after death. Considering this, unless players are deliberately trying to play a joke, it is best to avoid using this enchantment altogether.
8) Curse of Arthropods
If players struggle against spiders, bees, silverfish, or endermites in Minecraft, investing in this mace enchantment, Bane of Arthropods, may prove beneficial. It can be applied to maces and various other melee weapons, providing bonus damage when used against the aforementioned mobs.
Typically, a mace is fully capable of defeating arthropod mobs without any enchantments. While this enchantment does provide some additional combat advantages, it is not particularly useful unless players are having difficulty defeating spiders, bees, and similar creatures.
7) Cast Down
Like Bane of Arthropods, the Minecraft enchantment Smite for maces is one that players may have already utilized on other weapons. When enchanted onto a mace, the weapon will inflict extra damage against undead foes such as Zombies, Zombie Villagers, Drowned, Strays, Husks, Skeletons, Wither Skeletons, Bogged, Zombified Piglins, Zoglins, The Wither, Zombie Horses, Skeleton Horses and Phantoms, with the amount increasing with each level.
Although this mace enchantment can be useful for defeating certain undead mobs that players may struggle with, such as powerful bosses like the Wither, the mace’s powerful smash attack is usually enough to take down most enemies on its own. While it may have its uses in certain situations, it is not a long-term enchantment that players will likely want to rely on.
6) Flame On
Fire Aspect, previously only available for other weapons, can now be found on maces. As its name suggests, this enchantment will set targets ablaze when players strike them with a mace. In the Bedrock Edition, it has the added ability to ignite blocks such as candles, campfires, and TNT. However, the fire will only last for a limited time when used on mobs and players.
Each level of Fire Aspect grants a four-second period in which the targets are set ablaze. Although this is effective for inflicting additional damage, it should be noted that some mobs and players wearing enchanted armor possess Fire Resistance, which can diminish the enchantment’s ability to deal damage.
5) Durability
Similar to its effectiveness on other equipment, Unbreaking is an excellent means of preventing a mace from deteriorating in Minecraft. With the enchantment applied, there is a probability that the mace will not lose durability with each use. This likelihood is heightened with higher enchantment levels, significantly extending the mace’s durability before repairs are necessary.
Although fans may not have access to the Mending enchantment, Unbreaking can still benefit them by saving resources and experience levels in repairs.
4) Data Breach
A recently added enchantment for maces in Minecraft, Breach decreases the efficacy of a target’s armor by 15% per level. This enables the weapon to inflict more damage to a target’s health rather than being mitigated by their armor. This enchantment will be especially advantageous for players on challenging difficulty levels, where hostile mobs such as skeletons and zombies tend to spawn frequently with equipped armor.
Breach is expected to be highly beneficial in PvP, as it enables both basic and smash attacks to penetrate an opponent’s armor and strike them in vulnerable areas.
3) Repairing
“Mending is a highly favored enchantment in the game that can be added to maces. When applied, players will notice that their mace and other gear will automatically repair as they collect experience orbs. With the help of a simple XP farm, players can easily maintain the durability of their mace without having to constantly worry about repairs.”
Despite the fact that it may require a significant amount of experience, it is possible to maintain multiple pieces of gear enchanted with Mending and there are plenty of opportunities to gain experience points within the game.
2) Population Density
The unique smash attack of maces in Minecraft accumulates damage points for each block players have fallen, enabling them to unleash a powerful attack upon landing. This attack can even result in a one-hit kill if players fall for a significant distance. The Density mace enchantment further enhances this ability by increasing the damage output while players are falling, making it easier to land fatal smash attacks.
By equipping a Density-enchanted mace, the damage output of a smash attack is boosted by one point for every fallen block per level. This allows fans to accumulate up to five extra points of damage per fallen block. As a result, players can execute powerful smash attacks without needing to fall from a great height, potentially killing their target or inflicting serious injuries.
1) Hurricane Force Winds
Just like the popular Bounce enchantment that fans had come up with for the mace, Wind Burst is another amazing enchantment for Minecraft maces that enables players to perform consecutive smash attacks without touching the ground. When equipped with a Wind Burst-enchanted mace, players can execute smash attacks that launch them into the air, with the level of the enchantment determining the distance they can reach.
By using this enchantment, fans can easily rebound into the air and execute another smash attack if there is another target in close proximity. However, players must be strategic when utilizing this ability, as failing to plan for a landing spot can result in taking fall damage once the smash attack is completed.
