Eve Reveals Details on The LOX’s Nearly Confrontation with Mike Tyson and Her “Uncomfortable” Encounter with the Boxing Legend
In her memoir Who’s That Girl?, rapper Eve recounted an “uncomfortable”experience with the legendary boxer Mike Tyson. The 45-year-old Grammy-winning artist’s memoir was recently published on September 17, 2024. Eve also detailed how The LOX attempted to confront Tyson after her unsettling interaction with him.
Eve wrote:
“One time, Mike Tyson tried talking to me crazy when I was out with The LOX. The guys saw I was noticeably uncomfortable, and they were about to fight Mike Tyson to protect me. Literally, Styles P, Jadakiss, and Sheek Louch were building a strategy around how they were going to potentially gang up on Iron Mike.”
This incident had been referenced before; The LOX discussed it back in 2020 during their appearance on Drink Champs. N.O.R.E claimed on the podcast that Mike Tyson allegedly made a crude remark to Eve:
“I’ll f*ck the sh*t outta you.”
The LOX then shared their thoughts on how they planned to confront Tyson. Styles P noted that Sheek Louch “volunteered for the blow”since he was physically the largest among them.
Styles P emphasized their sense of duty to protect Eve, which fueled their decision to confront the former world champion.
Mike Tyson’s Relationship with The LOX Complicated the Confrontation
As previously mentioned, the incident Eve referred to in her memoir has been brought up several times in the past. In October 2022, Styles P revisited the event while appearing on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.
Styles explained that Tyson had a close relationship with the group, making the situation even more challenging. He reminisced that they used to hang out with him frequently. Styles shared that the group had developed a good rapport with Tyson, often chilling together.
During the conversation, Styles recounted being at the event with Eve when the aforementioned interaction with Tyson occurred. While they all wanted to confront Tyson, none were eager to face the consequences of potentially provoking him. Styles P noted:
“Vegas or L.A., it’s one of them awards. We see Mike, we’re chilling. Eve is with us, though — us three, there’s nobody else there. And [Mike’s] on his bully and we decided, ‘We gotta protect Eve.’ We was deciding who was gonna get knocked out. I was like, ‘I got a knife. Mike’s gonna kill us!’”
Styles P continued by confirming that Tyson was at the event and had been interested in Eve due to her appearance. When they were strategizing about how to approach Tyson, they initially selected Sheek Louch to take the hit, although Louch quickly declined.
In an article dated September 27 and published by Complex, it was further reported that Mike Tyson later reconciled with Eve by apologizing for his earlier behavior.
