In the expansive world of Eternal Strands, navigating through vast territories often requires significant effort. Fortunately, players have the option to fast travel free of charge, provided they satisfy specific requirements. The game features large explorable zones, and although direct teleportation methods are limited, the ability to quickly commute between important locations is invaluable for saving time and enhancing gameplay efficiency.
While the method of fast traveling is relatively simple, there are essential steps players must understand to fully utilize this feature. This guide will delve into how to activate fast travel points and effectively employ the Loomshard—Brynn’s personal transport device that allows instantaneous travel back to a primary location.
Unlocking Fast Travel in Eternal Strands

Players can access the fast travel feature early in the game during an introductory quest set in Glintwood Hollow. Your mission will involve locating and repairing a Loomgate, which acts as a fast travel point within the game. To successfully activate Loomgates, you must eliminate any debris obstructing their functionality. This can be achieved by either attacking rubble or employing the game’s innovative physics-based magic system to clear the area before interacting with the Loomgate.
Completing this initial quest and its associated objectives is crucial for activating the Loomgate, which serves as the primary method for fast traveling across different areas in Eternal Strands. Typically, each explorable zone houses at least one Loomgate, encouraging players to seek them out for easier navigation. Once you find a Loomgate, simply interact with it, choose your destination, and travel instantaneously.
It is important to note that if your character’s health reaches zero, you’ll forfeit most of your collected resources. However, players have the opportunity to select which resources they wish to keep. Expanding your carrying capacity can further enhance this aspect, allowing you to retain more items upon your return after defeat. Given this risk, it is advisable to utilize fast travel back to your base once your inventory approaches its limit to prevent losing valuable materials.
Utilizing the Loomshard in Eternal Strands

Following the restoration of your first Loomgate, players will earn the Loomshard—an essential, portable waystone that provides the ability to return to base from any location at any time. The usage of the Loomshard incurs no cost, but be cautious: activating it requires a prolonged animation during which your character is vulnerable to attacks, making it imperative to ensure the area is safe before proceeding.
To use the Loomshard, simply navigate to your consumables slot (by pressing Z/X on keyboard or using the D-Pad on your controller) and activate it similar to utilizing a Vitality Tonic. For players who prefer keyboard controls, assigning the Loomshard to a dedicated key can streamline the process.
Be aware that the Loomshard is exclusively designed for returning to base. While it is possible to use it to access other locations by first traveling home and then utilizing a Loomgate from there, this approach may lead to changes in the dynamic conditions of the area you wish to explore due to the passage of time during travel.
