CAPCOM Experiences Significant Stock Surge Following Impressive Fiscal Report
Japanese gaming giant CAPCOM saw a remarkable stock price surge today, closing with an impressive increase of 9.82% compared to the previous day. The stock’s rise can be attributed to the company’s compelling third-quarter financial results, which revealed a substantial 30% increase in net sales, 75% growth in operating profit, and a 65% boost in ordinary profit. As of the end of Q3 in the current fiscal year, CAPCOM reported net sales of $753 million, operating profit of $355 million, and ordinary profit of $338 million.
Promising Full-Year Projections Amid Upcoming Title Launches
The outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year appears even more optimistic, particularly with the upcoming releases of Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, 2026, and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection on March 13, 2026. Both titles are poised to launch before the fiscal year concludes on March 31, 2026, positioning CAPCOM to target net sales of $1.2 billion, with operating profit projected at $477 million and ordinary profit at $458 million.
Future Releases Set to Drive Continued Growth
Looking ahead, CAPCOM is gearing up for an even more exciting calendar year. In the subsequent fiscal year, the company has already announced two highly anticipated releases: the innovative third-person action/adventure title PRAGMATA—which we had an exclusive hands-on experience at Gamescom—and the much-anticipated installment Onimusha: Way of the Sword. While PRAGMATA is scheduled for release on April 24, 2026, the specific launch date for Onimusha has yet to be determined.
Ongoing Success of Established Franchises
CAPCOM’s commitment to its existing franchises also demonstrates its resilience in the gaming market. This year, Devil May Cry 5 emerged as the top-selling title, likely benefiting from ongoing promotional discounts. Although Monster Hunter Wilds hasn’t performed as strongly, it has achieved notable milestones, surpassing 11 million units sold since its February 2025 launch. Intriguingly, this title is recorded as CAPCOM’s fastest-selling game ever, narrowly eclipsing the previous record held by Monster Hunter World.
