“Entitlement Is Outrageous” — BLINKs Express Anger Over Alleged Disrespectful Behavior Towards BLACKPINK’s Jennie in Paris

BLACKPINK’s Jennie recently stole the spotlight at the Paris Fashion Week during the CHANEL SS25 presentation. However, on October 2, 2024, the K-pop idol and CEO of ODDATELIER went viral on social media due to a video clip in which she seemingly faced disrespectful behavior from certain fans.

In the viral clip, the “You & Me”singer-rapper was spotted exiting a store, greeting fans as she headed toward her car. Some fans were audibly heard making inappropriate comments such as,

“Are you serious? Do you hate us?”

Despite this, the BLACKPINK idol approached them with a smile, graciously signing autographs and posing for photos. Nonetheless, fans around the world expressed their outrage upon witnessing what appeared to be mistreatment, as some fans reportedly tried to guilt-trip her into taking pictures.

Many supporters argued that Jennie appeared fatigued from her busy schedule and deserved some personal space. Following the circulation of the clip on X, BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans) identified the social media accounts of the four individuals involved—Ness, Tony, Souk, and Jade. Consequently, the individuals allegedly deactivated their X accounts due to the widespread backlash from the idol’s fans.

One fan stated on X,

“The entitlement is crazy.”

Supporters of the BLACKPINK idol were astonished by the rudeness displayed by those fans, labeling them “ungrateful”for invading Jennie’s personal space and privacy.

“”Are you serious? do you hate us?” Saying that in front of her? What’s wrong with these people??? And look how Jennie is still being nice to them, smiling, signing, and taking selfies. UNGRATEFUL!”one fan remarked.

“In this video, we see JENNIE being guilt-tripped by these disrespectful individuals. If you ever meet JENNIE, please don’t pressure her to do anything against her will.”a user added.

“That’s outrageous; please always respect your idols—they owe us nothing! Jennie has been extremely busy lately with her events and comeback, and she definitely doesn’t harbor any hatred for her fans. That’s the most ridiculous accusation I’ve ever heard. These are not true fans. They are name-calling her in the video,”another fan criticized.

Some reports suggested that one of the individuals even referred to the BLACKPINK idol as a “b*tch,”which further fueled outrage among fans, who argued that the 28-year-old did not deserve such disrespect.

“The disrespect shown to Jennie in Paris today was appalling. These individuals forced her to take a picture, knowing she feels uncomfortable in crowds and suffers from anxiety, and then proceeded to disrespect her by calling her a ‘B*TCH’ after asking, ‘ARE YOU SERIOUS?’”one fan noted.

“I was truly shocked. People often forget that artists are humans too—this behavior is abhorrent. Following someone, blocking their path in hotels or restaurants, everywhere she goes without giving her a moment to breathe. I felt terrible for Jennie,”another user stated.

“She’s clearly on a private schedule. Calling her a b*tch and questioning her loyalty when she’s OFF the clock? You people need to reassess your actions. I’m tired of this behavior. I believe paparazzi should be illegal unless it concerns official events,”a fan emphasized.
