Gmail’s summary cards offer essential insights about orders and deliveries right at the top of your emails, and they are accessible via the Gmail app on Android, iPhone, and iPad.
Today, Google announced significant enhancements to the summary cards in Gmail. The user interface of the summary cards has been updated, now featuring new action buttons alongside the existing information. Action buttons you might find include “Get directions,””Invite others,””Track package,””Check in,””Remind me,”and “Mark as paid.”Additionally, these new summary cards are dynamic, ensuring you always have the most current information at your fingertips.
The refreshed summary cards will be available in the following email categories:
- Purchases: Easily track packages, view order details, and see what you ordered.
- Events: View or add upcoming events to your calendar, invite others, or find directions effortlessly.
- Bills: Review and pay bills, receive reminders for payments, or set due dates in Google Tasks.
- Travel: Manage reservations, check in for flights, and access crucial travel information such as hotel check-out times.
Alongside the summary cards in individual emails, Google is introducing a new “Happening soon”section at the top of your inbox. Currently, this section supports only purchase summary cards. It will showcase all purchase summary cards in a stack if you have multiple delivery-related emails. You can expand, dismiss, or select the cards to view related emails directly.
Google is gradually rolling out the updated purchase summary cards to individual emails on both Android and iOS devices. Other summary cards for events, bills, and travel, along with the “Happening soon”feature, are expected to be launched in the coming months. In the future, anticipate the availability of all four card categories in individual emails, the “Happening soon”section, and even in Gmail search functionalities.
With these new features, users can swiftly access crucial information and take necessary actions without sifting through their Gmail inboxes.
