Enhanced Password Flyout and Profile Preferences in Microsoft Edge 131 Dev

Microsoft has recently introduced the Edge 130 to the public through the Stable Channel, while also delivering a new weekly feature update for Edge Insiders in the Dev Channel. The release, version 131.0.2889.0, focuses primarily on minor enhancements and bug fixes, without any significant new features.

The detailed changelog is as follows:

New Features:

  • Some rows on the Profile Preference Page now include help information.
  • A fresh custom border has been added to the save/update password flyout.

Behavior Improvements:

  • Addressed a bug that caused the browser to crash on startup following an upgrade installation on Android.
  • Fixed a crash issue that occurred when switching search engines on iOS.

Modified Features:

  • Resolved the problem where Sidebar apps were automatically installed for new users in Gamer Mode.
  • Corrected an issue that caused the wallpaper to be oversized on the New Tab Page.
  • Fixed a glitch where the New Tab and Edit icons in tab groups displayed the same tooltip as the tab group name.
  • Resolved an issue where the media indicator wasn’t showing correctly after playing media in multiple windows and pausing one on YouTube.com and other sites.
  • Addressed misalignment of Top Sites when switching to portrait mode before returning to the New Tab Page while viewing feeds in landscape mode.
  • Fixed the icon visibility problem in high contrast mode within the Downloads section when hovering over icon buttons.
  • Resolved an issue where the fill color in the Address bar failed to change according to theme adjustments.
  • Corrected the categorization of ‘Sort by’ and ‘View by’ in the Favorites section, which were incorrectly marked as Menu items.

For iOS Users:

  • Resolved issues with unclear text in the Soft-landing UI under experimental settings on iOS.
  • Fixed a problem where the PDF toolbar would appear when signing in with an AAD account on iOS.
  • Addressed an issue where exiting InPrivate mode would trigger a switch to dark mode on the New Tab Page on iOS.
  • Corrected the brief appearance of the PDF toolbar on non-PDF pages on iOS.
  • Resolved an issue where ‘News and more’ appeared in the feeds when the tab center was activated while opening a new tab page on iOS.
