Today, Microsoft has rolled out an exciting new build for Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev channel. This latest update, known as Build 26120.3360, with KB5052090, is also accessible to Beta channel participants as an optional upgrade. With this release, users can look forward to enhanced CPU monitoring capabilities within Task Manager, optimized management of Lock Screen widgets, along with numerous bug fixes aimed at improving overall system performance.
Below is a comprehensive changelog detailing the latest additions:
New Features Being Introduced to the Dev Channel*
Customization Options for Lock Screen Widgets
The rollout of lock screen widgets—previously termed “Weather and more”—is now live for Windows Insiders in the European Economic Area (EEA).Users can now add, remove, and rearrange widgets such as Weather, Watchlist, Sports, Traffic, and other options. To configure these widgets, simply navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen. The feature will gradually expand to Insiders in other regions shortly. Those outside the EEA will continue to use the previous “Weather and more” widget experience.

Furthermore, a new group policy titled “Disable Widgets On Lock Screen”is being added, allowing IT administrators to disable lock screen widgets while keeping widget functionality intact on the rest of the system. This policy can be accessed via the Local Group Policy Editor under Computer Configurations > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Widgets; however, it is currently available only for EEA regions.
Improvements and Modifications to the Dev Channel*
Task Manager will now employ standardized metrics to calculate CPU utilization across the Processes, Performance, and Users sections. This update brings consistency with industry benchmarks and third-party tools. To maintain backward compatibility, an optional column titled CPU Utility, which displays the previous CPU metrics, can be activated on the Details tab.
