Exciting Updates for Windows 11: Enhanced Snipping Tool Features
Throughout the year, Windows 11 continuously introduces enhancements, bug fixes, and new features through the Windows Insider builds. Recently, an update has provided users with additional file-sharing options. However, a notable upcoming feature in the Snipping Tool has been highlighted in a recent Windows Insider build.
New Keyboard Shortcuts for the Snipping Tool
In recent months, the Snipping Tool has undergone significant improvements. These enhancements include functionalities such as screen recording, optical character recognition (OCR), and the ability to copy data tables. Recently, an insider known as @phantomofearth revealed a potential new keyboard shortcut that further streamlines the Snipping Tool’s OCR functionality. The shortcut, “Win+Shift+T,”allows users to quickly access OCR text actions.

Simplifying the User Experience
This new keyboard shortcut aims to simplify the process of using the OCR feature within the Snipping Tool. Currently, users must navigate multiple steps: pressing “Win+Shift+S”to open the Snipping Tool or searching for it in the Start Menu before selecting an image and accessing the “Text Actions”menu. The introduction of “Win+Shift+T”would eliminate these cumbersome steps, making the experience more seamless.
Status of the Feature Rollout
As of now, it remains unclear whether Microsoft will officially release this keyboard shortcut with the next build. However, users eager to explore this and other new features can join the Windows Insider Program. Engaging with this program might give you early access to such exciting enhancements in upcoming builds.
