“End their playoff hopes”: Draymond Green gears up with thunderous prediction ahead of Warriors-Rockets matchup
The competition for the Play-In Tournament is heating up between the Golden State Warriors, led by Draymond Green, and the Houston Rockets. Both teams are vying for the coveted tenth spot, which would secure them a spot in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. However, with the current standings in the Western Conference, it appears that the Rockets are facing an uphill battle, a fact that Green is well aware of.
Despite being in the tenth spot in the West with a 41-34 record, the Warriors have a better record than the Rockets, who are currently in the 11th spot, trailing by three games. This was further solidified by their recent win against the Dallas Mavericks.
Similarly to Golden State, the team based in Texas only has seven games remaining and will need to secure wins in the majority of them in order to qualify for the Play-In Tournament. This may prove to be a difficult task as they are set to face several playoff-bound opponents.
Green is cognizant of this and alluded to the Warriors’ intentions of eliminating the Rockets from the playoffs in their upcoming and final game against each other tomorrow. The defensive specialist discussed his insights on “The Draymond Green Show.”
“Really big time for us,”Green said. “Especially with the Rockets coming out to play. They have lost a couple in a row.
“Tomorrow will be an opportunity to end their season, their playoff hopes.”
During his analysis, he made a subtle jab at Rockets center Tari Eason by mentioning “the Rockets coming out to play.”This comes after Eason recently shared a video on social media discussing his team’s opportunity to secure the tenth spot and potentially end the Warriors’ chances of making the playoffs.
Despite this, Houston remains at the 11th spot in the West as their efforts have not yet yielded the desired result.
Draymond Green’s Clutch Block Secures Win for Warriors
Despite having less than two minutes remaining in the game against the Mavericks last night, Draymond Green remained determined to secure the win. As Mavs star Kyrie Irving drove to the basket and passed to their center, Daniel Gafford, Green closely watched the play.
He executed his timing perfectly when Gafford attempted a dunk and he rejected it, causing a stir in the arena.
Following the game, head coach Steve Kerr praised him for his defensive instincts during the play. Kerr believed that Green was going to commit a foul on Gafford.
“That was probably the key defensive play of the game, just a massive play,”Kerr said. “…He’s one of the reasons we’ve been able to kind of turn the season around.”
The Warriors will require Green’s defensive skills as they aim to end the Rockets’ chances of advancing in the playoffs tomorrow.
