On February 13, 2025, Square Enix officially delisted the iOS version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition due to an insurmountable bug that impacted both the free and premium versions available on the Apple App Store. This unfixable issue has left many gamers frustrated, as not everyone is eligible for refunds following the game’s removal. Meanwhile, the Android version continues to be accessible on Google Play.
What Went Wrong with the iOS Version?
The root of the problem lies within the in-app purchase functionality, which has prevented players from progressing in the game on iOS devices. This issue first occurred on January 24, 2025, but Square Enix delayed the decision to remove the game until it confirmed that no viable solution existed.
Refunds: Who Is Eligible?
Despite the game’s removal, refund opportunities are limited based on purchase dates. Players who bought the game at launch in August 2020 are not eligible for refunds. However, those who made purchases between January 2024 and the game’s discontinuation can reach out to Apple Support to request their money back.
