“Eminem Calls Out Diddy” – Prophetic Lyrics from ‘Fuel – Shady Edition’ Go Viral Amid Diddy’s Arrest Scandal
Eminem has released his newest single, Fuel – Shady Edition, on September 13, 2024, as part of the Expanded Mourner’s Edition of his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). This track features Westside Boogie and GRIP and serves as a sequel to the original version of Fuel featuring JID, which debuted earlier this year as part of Eminem’s 12th studio album.
In Fuel – Shady Edition, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, also known as Eminem, takes direct aim at Sean “Diddy” Combs, reiterating his previous allegations that Diddy was implicated in the murders of iconic rappers Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.
“Notorious B.I.G.’s death was the domino effects of Tupac’s murder/ Like facial tissue, whose card should I clean next? Puff’s?/ ‘Til he’s in police handcuffs, guilty, will he step up?/ Like gee [G. Dep] never turned himself in, who knows all the murders there’ll have been/ Or me mixed up, prepare for me to not choose none of my words carefully,” Eminem raps.
Eminem’s latest single comes in light of Diddy’s federal arrest on September 16, following a grand jury indictment. Sean Combs is currently facing three felony charges, including racketeering conspiracy, s*x trafficking by force or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In response to the incendiary lyrics targeting Diddy, social media has erupted with varied reactions. For example, X user @secretmovement1 engaged with @Cernovich, mocking Slim Shady by questioning, “How much baby oil did Diddy use on you, @Eminem?” This prompted @secretmovement1 to reiterate that the Detroit rapper has long been one of the first artists to publicly call out Diddy for his alleged transgressions through his music.
“Funny but Eminem has been calling out Puffy for a while. Neither Eminem nor 50 Cent is cool with Puffy. Eminem was the first high-profile celebrity to accuse Puffy of Tupac’s death in a song,” @secretmovement1 commented.
Many others chimed in, agreeing that Eminem and 50 Cent have been vocal about their disdain for Diddy for years.
“Y’all just be saying things. Eminem has made it known for years that he doesn’t like Diddy. He literally dissed him repeatedly on his most recent album. Him and 50 Cent are pretty much the ONLY celebrities to speak against Diddy this whole time. Write a new joke,” wrote one user.
“If you knew anything, you’d know that Eminem & 50 Cent have been the only two in hip hop to ever push back and talk sh*t about Diddy. Don’t speak on sh*t you don’t know about,” another user commented.
Reactions specifically addressing Eminem’s continued jabs at Diddy in Fuel – Shady Edition also surfaced across social media.
“This is the 4th time Em has said something about this. I swear he knows something we don’t,” wrote one user.
“2 Diddy callouts on both versions of the same song,” noted another.
“Incredible verse somehow topped the original version,” one netizen praised.
Here are some additional responses regarding this topic:
“He’s been accusing Diddy for years now everyone catches on because Diddy is in the news,” one person wrote.
“Eminem releasing a song saying this about Diddy the same week he gets arrested is crazy,” another individual stated.
“Have you been listening to Eminem’s new music? Bro definitely fueled up Diddy’s arrest,” said another user.
As of now, Sean Combs and his representatives have not publicly commented on the allegations made by Eminem in his recent track.
Eminem Has Previously Called Out Diddy Regarding Tupac and Biggie’s Murders
Aside from the latest track Fuel – Shady Edition, Eminem also criticized Diddy concerning Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.’s murders in the original version of the song Fuel. This version was released in July 2024 as the ninth track of his recent studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace). The lyrics included:
“Wait, he didn’t just spell the word ‘rapper’ and leave out a P, did he? (Yep)/ R.I.P., rest in peace, Biggie And Pac, both of y’all should be living (Yep)/ But I ain’t tryna beef with him (Nope)/ ‘Cause he might put a hit on me like, ‘Keefe D, get him’/ And that’s the only way you’re gonna be killing me (Nah).”
Back in 2018, Eminem hinted at Diddy’s alleged involvement in Tupac’s murder in his diss track Killshot, aimed at Machine Gun Kelly, who was then associated with Combs’ Bad Boy Records label.
“Kells, the day you put out a hit’s the day Diddy admits / That he put the hit out that got Pac killed,” Eminem rapped.
Additionally, Em threw shade at Diddy in two other tracks from his latest album, Antichrist and Bad One (featuring White Gold). In Antichrist, he alludes to a controversial video of Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie through the lyrics:
“Next idiot ask me is getting his a*s bėat worse than Diddy did-/ But on the real, though (what?) She probably ran out the room with his f*ckin’ d*ldo (come here)/ He try to field goal punt her, she said to chill (no)/ Now put it back in my a*s and get the steel toe.”
In Bad One, Eminem insinuates that Diddy attempted to blow up rapper Kid Cudi’s car:
“Got ’em up in arms like monkey bars, the f*cking bomb/ Word to Puffy, I’m blowing up like Kid Cudi’s car/ In front of his house where all his buddies are.”
For those unfamiliar, Cassie has included the alleged Kid Cudi incident in her November 2023 sexual assault, abuse, and trafficking lawsuit against Diddy. She claimed that it occurred during a “rough patch” in her extended relationship with Combs when she had a “brief relationship” with Cudi.
Recently, federal prosecutors referenced a similar incident as part of Diddy’s ongoing criminal proceedings. Currently, Sean Combs is being held in federal custody, having been denied bail twice. Last Tuesday, he pled “not guilty” before a judge at the Manhattan Federal Court.
