Stardock Revives Elemental with Early Access Release
Stardock recently announced the much-anticipated return of the Elemental series, now remastered as Elemental: Reforged. This modern iteration of the classic 4X strategy franchise has officially launched in early access on Steam, stirring excitement among strategy enthusiasts.

The Elemental series, which includes Elemental: War of Magic, Fallen Enchantress, and Sorcerer King, has experienced mixed receptions due to various technical challenges. Many fans noted that the original games suffered from instability largely attributed to the constraints of a 32-bit engine that struggled to support the series’ expansive systems.

“Elemental: Reforged embodies the vision we had for this series over 15 years ago, ” stated Bradley Wardell, CEO of Stardock and the lead designer.“Originally, our ambitions were limited by the PC hardware of the late 2000s. This new 64-bit engine, combined with enhanced graphics and integrated features from all past releases, allows us to deliver the experience we initially dreamed of.”

The redevelopment of Elemental: Reforged reflects an enhanced engine and graphical improvements, but it also retains the core elements from the earlier games. The dedicated development team, many of whom worked on the original titles, has returned to ensure continuity and quality.

Interestingly, Stardock initially did not plan for an early access release.
