The ESRB has rated the upcoming expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, in the US. However, its description may seem familiar.
The official expansion for Elden Ring is set to release on June 21 of this year. Prior to its launch, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has given the expansion a “Mature 17″rating, citing elements such as blood and gore, suggestive themes, and language and violence, which are consistent with those found in the base game.
However, there is another similarity between Shadow of the Erdtree and 2022’s Elden Ring – the game’s description. It seems that instead of providing original information about the game and its scenes, the description for Shadow of the Erdtree has been copied and pasted from the ESRB rating of Elden Ring. To provide a complete comparison, we have included screenshots of both ratings below.
The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion’s release date was announced in February of this year, along with a trailer showcasing the DLC’s new bosses and enigmatic realms. The expansion is set to launch on June 21st, priced at $40.
