Photo Editing Essentials with Photoshop for Android
Even if your editing skills aren’t top-notch, using Photoshop makes the process significantly smoother than flipping between devices. After choosing a photo from my mobile gallery, I was pleased with its clean editing interface that mirrors its clutter-free home screen.
Use the following features to enhance your images:
- Tap the + icon to add or adjust layers as needed.
- Select Layer Properties for options to blend, distort, and mask.
- Click Select Area to isolate or eliminate sections of your photo.
- Use Retouch to eliminate unwanted portions of your image.
- Adjust the Size to modify dimensions easily.

Be aware that some features may not yet be available as they’re still under development within the beta phase. Keep your eyes peeled for updates, as Adobe regularly adds new functions.
As an example of the app’s ease of use, I utilized the Select Area tool to isolate my cat Goldie and remove her background. I then added a new layer using a free stock image from Adobe, but you can also capture live images directly or utilize files from your device.

Exploring Generative Fill Features
To take my editing a step further, I used the Lasso tool to select an area for adding Generative Fill, which can truly bring a photo to life. After selecting the desired area, click the checkmark to confirm your change.
Select Generative Fill, input your creative prompt, then click Generate. I opted to add a subtle butterfly, which appeared as another layer for easy management.

Choosing from several butterfly options, I finally settled on a lovely monarch. You can add just about anything you desire to personalize your images.

Although my skills aren’t expert level, a few quick adjustments can transform a basic image into a visually engaging masterpiece within minutes. Investing 5-10 more minutes can produce a polished photo without requiring professional training.
