The side quest “Don’t Look Back In Anger”stands out as a compelling narrative within Dying Light: The Beast. This quest delves deeper into Kyle’s psyche, exploring his trauma while also shedding light on the telepaths located within the Exiles Cave. To assist players in navigating this quest, I have crafted a detailed guide that covers both the Tree of Madness and the deserted house, along with essential expectations as you progress.
Gathering Ingredients
Your adventure begins with the task of gathering two vital items: bark from the Tree of Madness and a gallbladder from a desolate house within the swamp forest. Once you arrive at the designated park where the Tree of Madness is located, check your map. You’ll notice it prominently featured near the word “D”of Golden Pine, as indicated on the accompanying map above.
Upon approaching the Tree of Madness, the quest marker will readily highlight it for you. After collecting the bark, you can either find a new vehicle or return to your previous one to embark on your journey to the swamp forest. Locating the abandoned house is straightforward; simply head west of the small road you traveled toward the quest marker.
- Enter the house by heading to its rear and spotting a ladder.
- Climb the ladder and enter through the hole in the roof.
- Inside, you’ll encounter a small hole in the floor—drop down.
- Proceed through the gap in the wall and descend further, where you’ll discover numerous notes affixed to the walls.
- Squeeze through another crack in the wall to find four Biters in a room to your right.
- Defeat the Biters and loot their bodies for the necessary gallbladder.
Meeting Starchild in His Oasis
After partaking in his concoction, you’ll confront your past and trauma head-on. Upon waking in the lab, exit your cell and traverse the hallway until you reach the end.
During the ensuing battle, avoid the common mistake of chasing the Spitter around the arena, as it is invincible at this point. Instead, focus your attention on defeating the “Runners”to charge your beast gauge. Once filled, activate this mode, which will reveal the Spitter’s health bar. Utilize your beast mode swiftly to defeat it and conclude the battle.
After an engaging cutscene and dialogue, your quest will culminate, granting you two Intermediate Manual Pages along with +10, 000 XP. Additionally, if you completed the quest in co-op mode, you’ll receive the standard Lootbox as a bonus.
