Sales Milestone Achieved by Dying Light: The Beast
As reported in the latest Alinea Analytics newsletter, the game Dying Light: The Beast has successfully exceeded one million units sold on Steam and has garnered over one and a half million copies globally. This impressive performance highlights the enduring popularity of the franchise among players.
Pre-Launch Buzz and Sales Insights
Initially, Polish developer Techland announced that they secured one million pre-orders prior to the game’s release. It’s crucial to note that this figure included sales of the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition, as Dying Light: The Beast originated as an expansion for this game. Ultimate Edition purchasers have early access to the new content as part of their package. Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics points out that the game’s sales have effectively reached one million new copies on Valve’s platform. Excitingly, the data reveals that 82% of players had previously engaged with the original Dying Light, while 77% had explored its sequel, indicating a strong return of dedicated fans to the series.

Market Trends and Competitive Releases
Dying Light: The Beast not only claimed the top position in Steam’s weekly sales but also competed against other significant releases from earlier this month. Titles such as Borderlands 4 sold an additional 337, 000 units, bringing its total to two million, while Hollow Knight: Silksong enjoyed a boost with an extra 255, 000 copies sold, adding to its impressive five million sales. Several indie games, including Peak and Shape of Dreams, also performed exceptionally well during this period.
In a noteworthy debut, the newly launched first-person horror visual novel, No, I’m Not Human, from Trioskaz sold over 200, 000 copies within its first week. Similarly, Jump Space, a cooperative sci-fi adventure game developed by Keepsake, had an outstanding start in early access, even outperforming EA Sports FC 26 on Steam.
Continued Success in Gaming
Another highlight from the past week is the popular game Hades, which achieved sales exceeding 150, 000 units, crossing the remarkable nine million sales milestone, partly attributed to a significant 75% discount. Supergiant Games strategically capitalized on this timing as the first version of Hades 2 prepares for its imminent launch, with estimates suggesting that it could become the next major hit within the Steam ecosystem. Notably, Hades 2 has already accumulated over two million sales in early access, indicating a promising trajectory for player engagement.
Additional Sales Achievements
On a related note, Alinea Analytics estimates that Palworld has surpassed an impressive 25 million copies sold across various platforms. In exciting news, PocketPair has recently announced a spin-off farming game, titled Palworld: Palfarm, which is sure to entice an even broader audience.
