Exciting Update: Dune Awakening Introduces Private Servers at Launch

In a recent announcement, Funcom has revealed that Dune Awakening will include private servers right from its launch date. Initially, the Norwegian game developer hinted that this feature might be implemented in future updates, but they have expedited its development, much to the delight of the gaming community.

This eagerly awaited addition is expected to please many fans, although it’s important to recognize that the private servers in Dune Awakening will have certain limitations compared to the private servers in Funcom’s renowned survival title, Conan Exiles. These constraints stem from Dune Awakening’s MMO-style design.

How Private Servers Will Function

According to the developers, renting a private server for Dune Awakening will grant players access to a specific area known as Hagga Basin, similar to the setup found in official servers. Players will have the opportunity to fully explore the Hagga Basin map and perform all the activities allowed on official servers. Each private server will be part of a “World, ”which consists of multiple private servers. When renting a server, players can select the World they want from a service provider.

This arrangement means players can engage with the expansive multiplayer environment of Dune Awakening, including visiting social hubs and traversing the Deep Desert. Importantly, players will not control these social hubs or the Deep Desert; instead, these areas will be governed by the host server provider, ensuring that all private server Worlds are equipped with these essential features.

Available Settings for Private Server Rentals

For players interested in setting up private servers in Dune Awakening, the following customization options will be available:

Security Zones: Players can decide whether to enable PvP across the entire Hagga Basin or designate specific areas for PvP similar to regulations on official servers.
Taxation: The option to disable taxation will be available, allowing players more freedom in server management.
Sandstorms: Players can choose to turn off the unpredictable sandstorms that add an element of challenge to the game.

Launch Details

Dune Awakening is set to officially launch on June 10 for PC. However, players who opt for the Deluxe or Ultimate editions can access the game a bit earlier, with early access commencing on June 5.
