Dune Awakening Guide: Steps to Obtain a Buggy

Dune: Awakening presents players with a sprawling open world filled with diverse locations waiting to be explored. Navigation across this expansive landscape proves to be more intricate than anticipated. Funcom has designed an engaging exploration system where vehicles play a critical role in survival and progression. At the heart of this vehicular experience is the Buggy, a formidable asset particularly when part of a team, renowned for its efficiency in resource gathering.

Players have the option to create a cutteray that can be attached to the buggy, along with an extensive storage compartment. This setup allows players to harvest precious ores while remaining comfortably stationary in their vehicle, enabling easy transport of hefty collections back to their base. While this vehicle can significantly enhance your gameplay, obtaining the necessary schematics and resources for crafting is no small feat.

As highlighted, the amount of resources necessary for crafting the buggy isn’t trivial, but the rewards are definitely worth it. A prime location to gather most of these resources is the Hagga Rift, situated north of the Eastern Vermillius Gap. Here, players can harvest substantial quantities of erythrite crystals required for producing cobalt paste via the chemical refinery, in addition to finding servoks, capacitors, and complex machinery.

Imperial testing stations also serve as excellent looting spots for components like advanced servoks and particle capacitors. Ensure you gather an ample supply of iron ore and carbon, as you’ll need these materials to craft steel essential for the assembly process. Once equipped with the necessary materials, transform them into buggy parts with your vehicle fabricator, followed by assembly using a welding torch and welding wire.

If your goal is to acquire a buggy swiftly, tapping into the vibrant Dune community through in-game chat is highly recommended. In my personal quest to manufacture my first buggy, I realized I lacked sufficient cobalt paste and needed additional erythrite. I solicited assistance in the Hagga Basin, posting a trade offer: “Looking to trade for erythrite crystals.”

Two remarkable players, Saigo and Samuel Elliot, responded quickly, arriving at my base in a matter of minutes. Rather than a simple trade, they suggested a mining expedition, leading us on an unforgettable adventure to the Hagga Rift. Before long, we found ourselves transporting large quantities of erythrite, alongside a treasure trove of other valuable resources, enabling me to complete the assembly of my buggy.
