Dune: Awakening’s Lost Harvest DLC Walkthrough
In the gripping narrative of Dune: Awakening’s Lost Harvest DLC, I’ve ventured far and wide across the desert plains of Arrakis. My journey has taken me to the site of the crashed harvester, where I located survivors and assisted Lt. Drangh in repairing a critical communication system. Now, I find myself amidst thrilling espionage as a covert operative for none other than the Spice Warden, Kief Villari.
My recent tasks involved installing listening devices in various Kirab hideouts and pursuing the trail of Villari’s stolen cargo at imperial testing station #13. Unfortunately, we soon discovered that the slavers had reached it before us, though they left a significant clue indicating their next move.
This guide will walk you through Kief Villari’s “Digging Deeper”quest, where you must locate the stolen goods, navigate through two perilous imperial testing stations, and recover a forbidden thinking machine humorously referring to you as a “meat-dipped calcium deposit.” Prepare for a mission that demands resilience, strategy, and exceptional navigational skills, with my seasoned Mentat character, Boris, leading the charge.
Let Boris Take Charge
Your adventure begins at Imperial Testing Station #117, situated Northeast of Imperial Testing Station #13, the final stop of Villari’s Prize contract.
Equipped and ready, Boris and his loyal companion Liliha fueled their Ornithopters and armed themselves for the mission to reclaim Villari’s pilfered cargo.
To streamline your progress, be sure to track the “Digging Deeper”quest in your Journey tab, and keep an eye on the compass markers positioned at the top of your screen.
Exploring Imperial Testing Station #117
Upon entering, your first objective is to locate a purple ID band, essential for accessing one of the pentashields. As you approach the entrance depicted above, be sure to take a right.
Be cautious: Boris senses imminent danger ahead.
Locating the Purple ID Band
As you advance, slavers wait lurking and ready to ambush you. Engage them fiercely and recover the purple ID band positioned on a table at the center of the room, as shown in the image above.
Finding Villari’s Package
With the ID band in hand, you can now access a pentashield positioned at the South end of the room.
Finally, you have discovered Villari’s stolen package!
Pick up the package resting in the center of the room (refer to the image) to unlock the next step in the quest for Kief Villari.
Upon securing the coveted metal case, Villari personally expressed his gratitude to Boris over the comms.
“Top marks, Spotter. Your instincts and follow-through are second-to-none. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re a seasoned operative.”- Kief Villari
Boris felt a surge of pride.
Making Your Way to Imperial Testing Station #29
With the package secured, your mission continues as you must now accomplish what Villari’s team couldn’t: finding Imperial Testing Station #29. Located in the Hagga Rift, this area can be tricky to navigate, so keep a close eye on your contract markers shown on the compass.
Upon entering the Hagga Rift, venture down into its depths to find the entrance to the testing station depicted below.
Search for the Hidden Lab
Once inside, you will be tasked with finding the entrance to the hidden lab, starting with the search for a Green ID Band.
Proceed down the first hallway on your right, then take a left (refer to the images above).
This will lead you to a room with stairs descending to a lower level, where the Green ID Band awaits (illustrated below).
Retrace your steps, and you’ll discover a newly accessible pentashield visible across the hall (see below).
Your next challenge involves clearing out enemies in a series of rooms to unlock the forthcoming pentashield (as illustrated below).
Once you arrive at the pentashield leading upstairs (as shown in the third image), you are nearing the hidden laboratory.
Uncovering the Hidden Lab
Upon reaching the upper floor, locate a Purple ID Band and an entrance cleverly concealed as a bookcase (displayed above).Collect the ID band and interact with the bookcase to trigger its opening.
Beyond this discreet entrance lies a door that leads deeper into the desert beneath—and things get strange down there.
The hidden entrance opens into a dimly lit cave system, leading you eventually to a door depicted in the initial image below.
Accessing the Port
The door guarding the top-secret underground lab, home to illicit machine learning experiments, is quite as you anticipated.
Make your way down the twisting staircase and walk through the imposing sci-fi-inspired steel door shown above.
Restoring the Power
Upon entering the hidden lab, your immediate goal is to restore power. Just past the steel door, you will find a power supply, but note that it’s initially locked, requiring you to utilize your Cutteray to unlock it.
After restoring power to the first unit, move past two sealed doors to locate the second power supply, illustrated below.
With two supplies restored, you will need to cut through a final door (using your Cutteray) to access the third power unit.
Once you breach the third door (featured below), you enter what appears to be a library area. Turn right and seek out a doorway illuminated by an ominous red light (displayed below).
Activate the switch on the final power supply and head towards the West end of the room you just entered. You will notice a newly unlocked pentashield, leading to the access port you’ve been searching for.
Inserting the Sphere
Upon access, you’ll encounter a massive red hologram known as the Solido Projection, which quickly morphs, ready to express its disdain for humanity.
Insert the sphere into the dashboard shown above, and brace for an impending battle.
Defend the Terminal
Resistance from the thinking machine ensues! While you’re attempting to download the machine’s data, it resists fiercely, summoning waves of holographic adversaries to protect itself.
These enemies will endeavor to disrupt the download, so ensure you keep them at bay from the sphere.
Retrieve the Sphere
Once you’ve withstood the onslaught and completed the download, carefully pull the sphere from the dashboard.
Delivering the Package to Harko Village
After extracting the thinking machine, your next task is to deliver it to Kief Villari’s contact in Harko Village. When you arrive, the lime-green logo of the Mithra will reappear on your compass.
Follow the marker until you find Elara Tuek, as illustrated above.
Upon transferring the sphere to her, you’ll be instructed to return to Hagga Basin and await further orders. Once you reach Hagga Basin, you’ll receive new instructions to revisit Harko Village and check back with Elara Tuek.
Returning to Elara Tuek in Harko Village
Elara had her team of technologists analyze the sphere you provided, revealing signs of additional secret labs that may house other machine minds. This conclusion marks the conclusion of the “Digging Deeper”quest and the commencement of “Secrets of the Past.”
As the thrilling narrative surrounding illicit machine learning unfolds throughout the Lost Harvest DLC, Boris cements his reputation as one of the finest secret agents to have walked the sands of Arrakis.
