Exciting Leaks Surrounding the iPhone 17 Air’s Design and Features
Recent leaks have shed light on Apple’s anticipated iPhone 17 Air, designed to succeed the “Plus”model in the iPhone lineup. Notably, this latest smartphone iteration is poised to introduce a fresh camera module that will feature a triple-camera system set within a distinctive rectangular pill-shaped housing, extending across the entire width of the device’s back.
Reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Air may achieve an impressive thickness of merely 5.5mm. We have already seen dummy models of the entire iPhone 17 series, including the Air variant, providing valuable insights into its forthcoming design aesthetics.
Dive into the Design Details
Renowned leaker Sonny Dickson has recently released images showcasing the dummy units of the iPhone 17 series. The photographs indicate that the iPhone 17 Air is remarkably slender, almost matching the width of its USB-C charging port. These images include side and bottom perspectives of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

In light of previous challenges Apple faced with slim designs, notably the infamous “Bend Gate”issue associated with the iPhone 6, the tech giant is reportedly utilizing a combination of titanium and aluminum for the iPhone 17 Air’s chassis. This material choice aims to enhance durability and resistance to bending.
Specifications and Features
To achieve the target thickness of just 5.5mm, the iPhone 17 Air will reportedly be equipped with a single 48MP camera and will support eSIM technology globally. Additionally, it will feature an advanced Wi-Fi chip developed in-house by Apple, along with the ultra-efficient C1 modem, which was first introduced with the iPhone 16e.
While the camera setup may appear modest, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to see enhancements in its front-facing functionality as well, boasting an upgraded 24MP selfie camera. Moreover, it will likely include the convenience of MagSafe technology and an Action button, further enhancing its appeal.
