The renowned basketball player, LeBron James, is known for his love of rap music and frequently expresses his passion for it. He regularly shares videos of himself rapping along to verses on his Instagram, and occasionally, he is caught on camera doing so.

During the pre-game warm-up for the Brooklyn Nets vs. LA Lakers game, the scenario was the same as he was spotted rapping to a Kendrick Lamar verse. The arena speakers were blasting ‘Like That’ by Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar, and LeBron could be seen mouthing the lyrics.

A snippet of the occasion was shared on social media, and Drake, a Canadian hip-hop artist and NBA enthusiast, expressed his approval by liking the post.

LeBron James’ passion for rap music is evident in his decision to record a song himself. He teamed up with 14-time All-Star Kevin Durant to create a collaboration titled ‘It Ain’t Easy.’

The pair collaborated on the recording during their time with the Miami Heat and OKC Thunder, respectively. Specifically, the recording took place in 2011 during the lockout season, but it was not released to the public until 2018.

LeBron James dominates with 40-point performance against the Brooklyn Nets

Participating in the pre-game warm-up by listening and rapping to Kendrick Lamar’s verse may have greatly benefited LeBron James and the LA Lakers.

The Lakers, who suffered a defeat against the Indiana Pacers on Friday, were in dire need of a victory. Despite the four-time champion’s performance of 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, it was not sufficient as the Pacers emerged victorious with a score of 109-90.

When playing against the Nets, LeBron James surpassed his previous performance. He scored 40 points, making 13 out of 17 shots and an impressive 9 out of 10 three-pointers. He also had a 5 out of 6 free-throw success rate.

Despite his age of 39, he made a significant contribution to his team’s 116-104 victory by not only scoring points against the Nets’ defense, but also recording seven rebounds and five assists.

The Lakers’ latest win brings their record to 42-33, allowing them to maintain their ninth place standing in the West. They are now only one and a half games behind the Phoenix Suns, who hold the eighth spot.

With only seven games remaining in their schedule, the Lakers will have to step up their game in order to stay in the running for a spot in the Play-In Tournament.
