Dragon Quest X Offline Mobile Versions Launch in Japan

Dragon Quest X Offline: Mobile Release Date Announced

Square Enix has officially announced that Dragon Quest X Offline will make its debut on Android and iOS devices on January 15, 2025, specifically for the Japanese market. This mobile version will include the Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally expansion, which was initially launched in May 2023, and will be available for separate purchase.

Pricing Details for the Game and Expansion

The base game is priced at 2,800 yen (approximately $17.73), while the expansion can be acquired for 2,400 yen (around $15.19). Customers can take advantage of promotional pricing available until January 28, 2025, where the game will be offered for 1,960 yen (about $12.41) and the expansion for 1,920 yen (near $12.16).

Background of Dragon Quest X Offline

Originally launched in Japan and Asia in September 2022, Dragon Quest X Offline is derived from the popular Dragon Quest X MMORPG, which first introduced players to its vast online world in 2012. This offline version is designed to provide a traditional single-player gaming experience, featuring a customizable hero and a team of recruitable characters. Despite the game’s success in Japan, Square Enix has reiterated that they have no plans to localize this version for international markets.

Previous Mobile Developments

In addition to Dragon Quest X Offline, Square Enix previously partnered with NTT DoCoMo to create a mobile iteration of Dragon Quest X Online, which launched through cloud streaming services back in December 2013. This initiative reflected the company’s commitment to expanding the Dragon Quest franchise across various platforms.

Availability Across Platforms

Currently, Dragon Quest X Offline is accessible on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. The forthcoming mobile version will broaden its audience, making it available on both Android and iOS devices.
