If you’ve ever dreamt of crafting the ultimate Dragon Ball Sparking Zero showdown, the Custom Battle Mode is your gateway to that experience! With around 5,000 dialogue lines at your disposal and an extensive selection of over 180 characters, the possibilities to design your own Dragon Ball adventures are virtually limitless. While the game primarily highlights Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, it also dives into the realms of GT, broadening your creative horizons.
We touched on this aspect during our live preview of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, but now we’ve taken a deeper dive into the features of the Custom Battle Mode. If you’re seeking guidance on how to navigate this exciting feature, you’ve come to the right place.
Utilizing Normal Edit for Custom Battles in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Normal Edit serves as the standard setting for Custom Battles in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. This mode offers advanced customization features that aren’t available in the Simple Edit mode, including the ability to set Effect Settings and Scene Configurations. If you’re aiming to have characters perform transformations or tag in and out during the fight, you’ll need to utilize Normal Edit through Effect Settings.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating your Custom Battles in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero:
- Characters: Decide which fighters will enter the battle.
- Battle Environment: Select the stage for your epic showdown.
- Effect Settings: Configure which effects trigger under specific conditions and define the prerequisites for each effect.
- Scene Settings: Modify which cutscenes play at the beginning or conclusion of the battle, including event scenes that occur once the battle results are determined.
- Title Screen: Choose the phrase, background, and music that will play for the title screen.
- Thumbnail: Create a thumbnail to showcase your battle.
Choosing your Characters is straightforward; you can select any fighter you wish. However, if you plan to include transformations or fusions, ensure you’re using the correct forms of the characters. For example, Z-Goku cannot transform into SSJ4 Goku—only GT Goku has that capability!
Opting for a Battle Environment is also quite simple; just choose the stage where you wish to host this thrilling encounter. For our example, we selected the Land of the Kais because of its stunning aesthetics. Yet, the Scene Settings introduce a layer of complexity to the Custom Battle experience in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
At this stage, you can create cinematic moments and interactions that unfold before and after the battle. Want to set the mood with a dialogue scene before the fight? You can accomplish that within the Scene Settings.
You can also add visual effects, capture thumbnails, implement slow-motion scenes, and more. The more you experiment, the more remarkable your creations become. Once you save your scene, you can easily drag-and-drop it from your Cut List into any empty slots in the Edit Scene section.
However, keep in mind that your creations must be feasible—avoid crafting scenarios that cannot be realistically completed!
Exploring Simple Edit and Copy Edit in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Simple Edit is designed for players who prefer a more straightforward approach without diving into the elaborate settings of Normal Edit. Upon entering Simple Edit, you will choose from various templates that dictate the combat style of your battle:
- Intense battles featuring last-second comebacks.
- Exciting team combat scenarios.
- Encounters with exceptionally powerful adversaries.
- One-on-one duels to determine supremacy.
- Challenging battles against overwhelming odds.
In Simple Mode, you’ll be working with Characters, Battle Environment, Title Screen, and Thumbnail. However, the Thumbnail options will be limited to general presets based on your battle.
Copy Edit is quite straightforward too. Simply select this option and choose either Bonus Battles or Custom Battle Mode. Remember, you can duplicate completed Bonus Battles and then customize them using the Normal Edit settings.
