King Gomah’s acquisition of the Evil Third Eye has turned him into the principal adversary in Dragon Ball Daima. Previously a lesser character, Gomah evolves into a menacing figure through the power bestowed by this ancient relic. But what is this artifact that grants such formidable strength?
The Evil Third Eye first emerged in the series during episode 1, titled “Conspiracy.”In this episode, King Gomah and his accomplice Degesu discussed their aspirations involving three wishes from the Dragon Balls on Earth. While Gomah initially sought to use one of his wishes to gain the Evil Third Eye, fate intervened. Shenron, the entity behind the wishes, explained that he only grants three wishes to repeated summoners, meaning that Gomah would need to settle for just his first wish. In a surprising turn of events, he ultimately obtained it in episode 16, “Degesu.”
The Supreme Demon King’s Most Prized Artifact
The One Eye To Rule Them All

The Evil Third Eye, also known as the tertium oculus, is a coveted item capable of enhancing its wielder’s strength, mass, and arcane power. Its unique aspect is that it must be placed on the forehead of its user, potentially requiring assistance, as seen when Gomah needed help from a Majin female. Once positioned correctly, the user undergoes a transformation that increases their overall power and size.
It’s worth noting that while the artifact amplifies magical power, it appears to empower users primarily for combat-related abilities, such as unleashing potent magical beams akin to Ki attacks utilized by the Z Fighters. Currently, Gomah hasn’t demonstrated any unique spellcasting abilities, leaving open the possibility for future episodes to reveal more about the full range of powers bestowed by the Evil Third Eye.
The Evil Third Eye, also referred to as the Tertian Oculus, has been a symbol of power among Supreme Demon Kings throughout history.
Gomah’s desperation for the Evil Third Eye became evident when he realized that he could only achieve one wish from the Dragon Balls. He regretted turning Goku and his allies into children, expressing a preference for the Eye’s power over weakening his formidable foes, highlighting the Eye’s potential to enhance his capabilities against them.
How Strong Is Gomah With The Evil Third Eye?

Establishing Gomah’s power prior to the Evil Third Eye is challenging, as he had not engaged in combat before. However, it is understood that he was strong yet not quite on par with Tamagami or Dabura. Post-transformation, Gomah’s enhanced power enables him to contend with heavyweights like Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and even Majin Buu simultaneously.
In episode 17, “Gomah, ”the character demonstrated the ability to effortlessly block energy blasts launched by eight warriors at once, indicating he is considerably stronger than Majin Buu—previously the highest threat faced by Goku and his allies. The strategies that the Z Fighters will employ to counteract Gomah’s might remain uncertain and will be revealed in upcoming installments.
The Path to Hybis and the Evil Third Eye
The Eye’s Discovery on Hybis’ Belt

Before falling into King Gomah’s hands, the Evil Third Eye belonged to the former Demon King Abura, Dabura’s father. Dabura devised a scheme to seize control from his father by having the Eye stolen and hidden in the Third Demon World. The theft was successful, but chaos ensued when a rogue bandit attacked the thief, causing him to lose the Evil Third Eye in a ditch, much to Dabura’s frustration. Nevertheless, Abura’s loss of the Eye weakened him, allowing Dabura to usurp the throne.
The Eye was later stumbled upon by Hybis while hunting in the vicinity of its resting place. Intrigued by the mysterious object, he attached it to his belt buckle, unaware of its immense significance. Contrary to some viewers’ speculations, there was no deeper context surrounding Hybis’ possession of the Eye, showcasing the lighthearted nature that defines Dragon Ball Daima.
Dragon Ball Daima is now available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Episode 19 of Dragon Ball Daima is slated to release on February 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM PT.
