The excitement in Dragon Ball DAIMA ramps up significantly in Episode 12, “True Strength.”This episode sees the ongoing quest for the elusive Demon Realm Dragon Balls unfold from two distinct perspectives as the characters find themselves engaged in intense confrontations against the Tamagami protectors. Notably, Majin Duu showcases classic traits reminiscent of Buu, while Neva raises the stakes for Vegeta as he seeks to unlock new power.

Throughout the initial episodes of Dragon Ball DAIMA, Earth’s champions were scattered, operating independently. However, in Episode 11, the team finally reunited, setting their sights on Tamagami Number Two, accompanied by their enigmatic ally, Neva. Concurrently, Dr. Arinsu’s latest creation was put to the test as Majin Duu faced off against Tamagami Number One. The episode opens with an intense sequence where Vegeta narrowly escapes being consumed by the immense kraken encountered at the end of the last episode. Initially, this situation looks dire when Tamagami Number Two’s blasts connect with Vegeta, but a surge of power from the Super Saiyan form allows him to break free, sending the kraken into retreat. Meanwhile, the spirited battle continues as Majin Duu squares off against Tamagami Number One in the First Demon World, embracing utterly unpredictable movements and the whimsical nature reminiscent of Buu. However, Duu’s abilities are momentarily disrupted when he throws a tantrum demanding chocolate—a distraction that showcases his blend of innocence and power.

As Kuu rushes off to procure chocolate, Duu skillfully dodges attacks but begins to show signs of fatigue. Once Kuu returns, Duu’s energy replenishes, enabling him to unleash a barrage of powerful blasts, securing victory over Tamagami Number One. Yet, another challenge awaits: Goku previously faced a fast-paced shell game, and now Duu is confronted with a rapid-fire arithmetic puzzle. Despite the lightning speed of the numbers flashing on the screen, Majin Kuu provides his brother with the correct nine-digit answer, allowing Dr. Arinsu to secure the One-Star Demon Realm Dragon Ball.

In a parallel narrative, Neva intensifies the conflict for Vegeta by significantly enhancing Tamagami Number Two’s powers. This unexpected turn forces Vegeta down into the ocean depths after a brutal blast robs him of his Super Saiyan form—an especially perilous position for a Saiyan. However, resonating with unwavering determination, Vegeta rises from the depths in a transformative moment, channeling energy to achieve a powerful new form: Super Saiyan 3. While the episode does not formally name this transformation, the visual cues—like Vegeta’s dramatically lengthened hair—signal the significance of this evolution in the Dragon Ball universe.

With his newfound strength, Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta swiftly gains the upper hand against Tamagami Number Two. Yet, the climactic challenge remains. Engaged in a classic logic problem involving a character named Ichiro and his biscuit-sharing antics, Vegeta’s frustration peaks. In a moment of clarity, he shouts “zero,”correctly deciphering that snakes do not consume biscuits, thus triumphing in what appeared to be a trick question. Neva’s surprise at the outcome underscores the cleverness of Earth’s heroes as they return to the skies with two Demon Realm Dragon Balls in hand, positioning the series for a thrilling climax. The three Tamagamis have fallen, while Glorio’s subplot with Dr. Arinsu deepens, leaving viewers eager to see how the remaining arcs will converge as we head into the final act of Dragon Ball DAIMA.
