What’s New in WinRAR 7.13
The latest update, WinRAR 7.13, includes several significant enhancements:
- Security Improvements: A critical directory traversal vulnerability has been addressed. Previous versions, including those of Windows and portable UnRAR, could be manipulated to use paths from a specially crafted archive, rather than specified locations by the user. Notably, Unix versions of RAR and UnRAR, as well as RAR for Android, remain unaffected. Bug Fixes in WinRAR 7.13
This version also resolves multiple bugs from earlier releases:
- The “Import settings from file”feature in WinRAR 7.12 failed to properly restore settings that were saved with earlier versions.
- A bug in WinRAR 7.12 incorrectly set a recovery size larger than anticipated for compression profiles originating from WinRAR 5.21 or older.
