What is Sandboxie?
Sandboxie is a robust isolation software designed specifically for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows NT operating systems. Versions of Sandboxie
Sandboxie is offered in two distinct editions: Plus and Classic. While both versions share the same foundational security measures and compatibility features, they differ significantly in user interface design:
- Sandboxie Plus: Features a modern, Qt-based interface and incorporates all recent enhancements since transitioning to open source.
- Sandboxie Classic: Retains an older MFC-based UI that has not been actively developed, lacking support for some of the latest functionalities. Nonetheless, advanced features can still be accessed through manual configuration in the
Sandboxie.inifile.
Latest Updates: Sandboxie Plus 1.15.8 and Classic 5.70.8
The most recent updates for both Sandboxie versions include vital improvements and fixes:
- Enhanced the sandbox deletion confirmation prompt (thanks to PenXLa) #4561
- Updated the online updater for better functionality
- Included the ImDisk 3.0 driver in the Plus Installer (64-bit only)
- Resolved the issue with the “WriteFilePath”function working incorrectly #4553
- Fixed a bug where Box Notes would delete matching lines upon saving #4547
