Enhancing PC Security with Sandboxie
To protect your computer from potential malware threats, consider running applications in a sandbox environment. This approach helps ensure that any changes made during the operation of these programs are confined to a secure space, allowing for easy deletion without impacting your system.
What is Sandboxie?
Sandboxie is a dedicated isolation software compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows NT-based platforms. Developed by David Xanatos after its transition to open-source status, Sandboxie was initially created by Ronen Tzur and subsequently acquired by Invincea and Sophos. This software provides users with a controlled virtual environment for safely testing untrusted applications and browsing potentially insecure websites.
Versions of Sandboxie
Sandboxie is offered in two versions: Sandboxie Plus and Sandboxie Classic. While both versions share the same underlying security features and compatibility, they are differentiated by their user interfaces. The Plus version boasts a modern, Qt-based UI that integrates all recent enhancements introduced since becoming open-source. In contrast, the Classic version retains an outdated MFC-based interface, lacking support for newer features, though some can still be accessed through manual configurations within the Sandboxie.ini file.
Latest Updates: Sandboxie Plus 1.15.4 and Classic 5.70.4
