This update follows just a week after the rollout of the fourth developer beta, highlighting Apple’s commitment to refining its software ahead of the public release.
New Release Candidate for iOS 18.5 and macOS 15.5 Now Available for Developers
The Release Candidate for iOS 18.5 is now live for developers, marking an important phase towards final testing before the public launch. Registered developers can download the latest RC builds for iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5 directly from their devices. To install the update, simply navigate to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates, and follow the prompts on your screen.
This significant release includes a variety of new features and improvements worth exploring. Notably, iOS 18.5 brings support for carrier Satellite Connectivity to iPhone 13 models, enhancing connectivity options for older devices, which is a compelling upgrade for users. Installation of iPadOS 18.5 follows the same straightforward process, ensuring a seamless experience for developers with compatible devices. Before updating, ensure your Apple ID is linked to your Apple Developer Account, as this is necessary to access the RC build via the Settings app.
In addition to iOS and iPadOS updates, Apple is also providing developers with the Release Candidate build of macOS 15.5. This update can be easily installed through the Software Update option in System Settings. As with the mobile updates, a linked Apple ID and Developer Account are required to receive the update wirelessly.
